Is it strange that I liked this one more than the entire Ace Attorney franchise? I don't know, as good as the series was, it's episodic plot structure always left me wanting more. Like there was never enough. But this one left me perfectly satisfied after just one installment. It's just so well-crafted, both in terms of narrative and puzzle design.

I seriously have to wonder whose idea it was to make Bailey dance when he's in a state of panic. That person deserves a medal.

I much preferred this to Phoenix Wright in the end - maybe it was the lack of characters as irritating as Pearly, irritating looping conversation tree's and obtuse solutions. I like to think that it was the exquisite animation, clever puzzles and charming characters though. (I'm not saying Phoenix Wright didn't have some amazing characters or fun stories... but it got very convoluted in certain cases! Also- whoever thought it was a good idea of have more than one appearance of Lotta Heart and Wendy Oldbag with conversation loops that went on too long even when you were skipping them...Well- they need a life sentence without parole!)

I still need to get this. *sigh* Money, come to me! This is one of those games I'd pick up ASAP. It's going to get expensive, and probably sooner rather than later.

I could have done without the Stealth sequence... I _so_ could have done without it.
I never cleared it.

Here's a tip regarding that: (spoiler)Jowd is more athletic than he looks - he can climb into the crawlspace between the top and bottom floors if you open the floor panels and then signal him from inside there. The only trick is timing it so that he doesn't try to climb as the guards are about to fall through said panels.(/spoiler)

Higher resolution, looks a little crisper. I put up screenshots as comparison. Just as smooth mostly, though I've heard issues of minor choppiness at points, usually having to do with that Game Center garbage. It doesn't lose anything without the second screen though. It's weird the way they partition it - the first couple chapters are free, the rest are in-app purchases. The rest of the game is bundled into 3 partitions, for $5, or you can just purchase the whole thing for $10. Very strange trick.

The game barely used the second screen at all, IIRC. It just displayed the logo on the top screen, didn't it? (I haven't played it since release or read the article yet so :r ) I wonder if it was designed with an iOS port in mind?

The top screen shows the timer and the name/function of the object you're possessing, during the interactive portions. Cutscenes do just limit it to the logo.

Had the fortune to pick this up last Halloween off Amazon for $15.00 and spent about 3 days going through it. Loved the short time playing it and may have to give it a revisit some time in the future. Solid article, and loved how you through in that last character in the profiles- actually got a small chill when he broke the 4th wall to call me out on my tricks (and then promptly shot the victim). That said, he's note quite the only character who "knows" when your manipulating objects- Beauty's sixth sense and all.
