If they take the time to retranslate it (hahahaha) it might be halfway decent.

Now everyone can find out how fucking awful it is. The comments section for the news over at kotaku is hilarious. It's almost universally hated

I would say it's far from universally hated. It really may be the most polatrizing game I've ever played. The PS blog was constantly badgering for it on the PSN. Anyone in personal circle of firends loves it. Of course those who hate it have made themselves quite clear here. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. For example Mana games are incredibly boring, all of them. FF VI has the most dissapointing second half of all time, and Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) is better then ever single Mario platformer combined, except SMW 2.
PS: Yes I'm being petty now. But those are my true feelings

But those are my true feelings I agree with you on the Mana games. I enjoyed them in the 90s, but we didn't have many choices back then. You're out of your goddamn mind, though, if you think Sonic 1 is better than Mario 2 or 3. But 'tis all in good fun.

Mario 3 is my second favorite of the bunch, but in all honesty I really cannot stand Mario platformers. They tend to suffer some really bad Gradius Syndrome. Then again I was raised on Sonic and didn't play a Mario game until I was like 8. Probably why it feels wonky to me and me alone.

LoD suffers from the same syndrome ANY game not so absolutely horrid enough to reach "so bad it's good"/"bile fascination" territory suffers from.
It's a similar phenomenon to how (right or wrong,) complete assholes who treat others like shit end up more socially acceptable than awkward people.
It if can't excel, then it has to be bad enough for people to notice, not just so un-notable that it can be dismissed out of hand.

I get the feeling we're still going to get the bad translation. They didn't relocalize Gunbird. I'm pretty sure it's still Mobile Light Force on PSN. Legend of Dragoon would be much more difficult to relocalize, what with being an RPG full of text instead of a shooter that only talks between levels. This also takes into account the voice acting. I'm pretty sure Haschel says "Fairy of Styx" instead of "Fury of Styx", among other problems, which would mean hiring new voice actors. I kind of get the feeling that fixing the bad translation would be too daunting a task and they'll just give us the original version. Oh well.

I doubt it'll have a better translation. We got the awful loading times with FF VI on PSone classics.

You've clearly never played Secret of Mana 2. That game is like party game central. So much fun with three players.
