An obscure hori-shmup/platformer hybrid for the Sega CD, based on an equally obscure and short-lived anime. It's also quite good! I'd never even heard of this before, which is odd because I went through a Sega CD binge a few years ago, looking for anything exclusive to the system, but now that I've read about this I'm rather keen to try it. www.hardcoregaming101.net/devastator/devastator.htm

So I cannot get this game to load at all on either Kega Fusion or Gens and I'm pretty irritated about this.

I do, and in fact I've toyed around with the Japanese version of Sonic CD which plays perfectly fine.
I load up either the ISO or CUE file of the game (it came with both), start the Mega CD emulator, hit CD-ROM, then it goes to the "Produced by or under license from etc." screen and just sits there. I've tried three different ROMs from three different websites and it does the same thing. Is there something else I'm missing here?

Maybe you just have a bugged version of the emulator, or a releas that's just not compatible with the game ? Also I think you have to load cue files when doing Kega because it directs the game to go to what audio track. When I played the first Keio game with the ISO the game would crash after level 1.

OK even after trying three different version of Kega Fusion (3.62, 3.63, and 3.64 to be exact) and three different downloads of the JP BIOS, and the ForceCompatibleGFX option set to 1 and back, STILL nothing. I guess the only thing left to blame is my computer, which is a new but cheap 64 bit Win 7 laptop, for being a piece of crap. Oh well, the day when I get a decent gaming desktop rig I'll probably try it again then but for now, I give up.

Is the "Perfect Sync" option enabled? I forget if that's in Fusion or Gens...

^YES, so it turns out THAT was the problem all along! Turned Perfect Sync on in Fusion and the damn thing boots up like it was nothing! Thanks a bunch Weasel but damn can emulators be persnickety about these things. :r
Now that some possible discussion can go to the game itself I'll kindly slink back into the shadows and play around with the game a bit and maybe comment on it here later. Thanks all!
