Bump for closure. SNES Final Fight better than the first Rushing Beat? You guys better not be wearing nostalgia goggles or something. The best thing about it is probably the core mechanics which are still there. The first Rushing Beat on the other hand, had 2-player, Angry Mode, persistent continues and the ability to sprint.
Not only did SNES Final Fight miss a character and an entire stage, but the music sounds terrible except for a few renditions like Stage 1-2, there are slow down issues and the control seems unresponsive at times (I might be making that last one up). Why does every enemy make Sodom's death cry? Using the other one would have saved up some cartridge space.

It doesn't say that though?

I think I've finally figured out how to tech grabs in Rushing Beat Ran / Brawl Brothers: Press Left/Right and Y at the same time when grabbed, just before you are thrown. After your target moves about 1 pixel forward, you have 17 frames to tech their grab.

I just realized that the ninja's name in Brawl Brothers is Kazan. Jaleco released an arcade game called Ninja Kazan 5 years earlier. I can't tell whether they're meant to be the same guy - I would think so, though the outfit's different - but at the very least it's a reference it might be worth mentioning. video
