A bunch of new Metal Gear projects were announced in the 25th Anniversary Party just an hour ago (including a live-action movie), but this is the one that actually matters. It's a sandbox Metal Gear Solid sequel/spinoff/whatever set after the events of Peace Walker. No footage have been released yet, but the few people who saw the demo seems to be hyping it on Twitter. www.famitsu.com/news/201208/30020414.htmlwww.4gamer.net/games/182/G018205/20120830041/ (same image, but without the Famitsu watermark) Attachments:

As impressive as these promotional renders might look like, there's no way the final game is going to look like this. Attachments:

Dammit, Kojima, stop making me want to play your games! =P He stopped making me want to play his games a long time ago. Not a fan of Metal Gear or sandbox action games, so does not sound especially promising to me.

I'll believe it when I see it. A decent gaming PC could run a game that looks like that though, not sure about the PS3 or Xbox 360. Still looking forward to it. By the way, it turns out the earlier render that Konami released was mirrored, although it's supposed to that way (it's easy to tell since the MSF logo on the wrong arm). Here's the "corrected" version. Attachments:

Sounds really interesting. Wonder how well a stealth-based sandbox game would work. The closest was the first Assassin's Creed because of the almost near constant guard aggro, which got annoying after awhile.

Turns out the actual title is "GROUND Zeroes", not "Zero" as previously reported. Changed the thread's title to reflect that

Pretty much the same reason why Watch Dogs was shown off on a PC @ E3 instead of on the PS3/360. Then again, that one is (very very very very) most likely targeting the next platforms and if we get anything on 360/PS3, it'll be lower quality ports. Upscaled to 720p and inconsistent framerates. The usual.

Side-note, but in the MGS storyline, they mentioned a few times that the FoxDie vaccine was in the White House. Why couldn't Snake just go the White House after the mission was over, and retrieve it there?

Why couldn't Snake just go the White House after the mission was over, and retrieve it there? I believe that was just supposition on Liquid and Ocelot's part in MGS1. They assumed that the US government had a vaccine to FoxDie, when they actually didn't. At least, not for the strain Naomi gave to Snake.

Podcast where a couple of people who went to the event talk about what they saw in the demo. The demo will apparently be shown again on PAX in the next few days. 8-4.jp/blog/?p=1351&lang=en

The closest was the first Assassin's Creed because of the almost near constant guard aggro, which got annoying after awhile. Hopefully they can do a better job with stealth mechanics than Assassin's Creed. I've only played the first two games, but stealth was neither necessary nor useful. Counterattacks are so easy and powerful that the games were less about stealthy assassinations and more about running around and murdering everyone right in the middle of town because you are an unstoppable death machine. I mean, you can try to be stealthy, but since it's generally faster and more efficient to just brute force everything, there's really no reason to use stealth.
