Perhaps both are traced from another source? Or maybe this is the original? Those are way too different to be even indirect copies. At most, one "inspired" the other.

I think there was a 70s Honk Kong actor that looked just like the Shao-lin's Road guy, but I can't be sure... the pose might be from Bruce Lee. It certainly looks like a typical Bruce Lee pose. It definitely seems familiar, but nothing specific is coming to me right now. Chances are it is traced, but I guess we could add it to the article as some point as a placeholder, like with the Cabal and Jackie Chan ones.

Not exactly sure if it's exactly influenced by this, but the US cover for Hudson's Karaoke Joysound for the Wii looks a lot like one of the Joe Montana Sports Talk Football ads. WARNING: VERY LARGE IMAGES

See that oddly cheerful guy performing a weird flying kick at the top of Shao-Lin's Road box art? Check this out: I'm fairly certain the other stance is also "inspired" by Bruce Lee, but unfortunately I haven't been able to find a picture of Bruce posing like that. Yie Ar Kung Fu 2's box art also features a traced Bruce Lee picture:

Not sure about this, but I think the guy on the center of the Maidus cover is based on the same image of Roger Moore that was traced for the Secret Agent flyer (the second image shown in this article; the Live And Let Die one)

Wow great work Corsair and Retroman, those are definitely the poses! Good ol' Bruce Lee. There are probably a hundred more games that rip off his poses, he was just so distinctive.

The Mad Max vs. Road Raider comparison appears on the page twice.

Well, that one is just logical, really. An "Afrika Corps" game has to have Rommel and Montgomerry on the cover.

Is it just me, or is Melita Curphy making a mountain out of a mole hill? What does he mean get it worked out? Does he want royalties? A one-time payoff? Work it out how? People influence each other. That's how the world works.
Deal with it, motherfunster.

I think it's perfectly fine to be upset over it. There's "influence" and then there's directly tracing over people's original designs to use for the cover of one of the most acclaimed games of 2012.
I mean, the 80's box art rip offs are sort of OK and entertaining for 2 reasons. 1. It's so old and so low in quality for the most part it's just amusing, and 2. the people they were ripping off were big movie studios, famous painters etc., while Melita Curphy is just an independent artist. To expect some kind of payment in exchange for ripping off her design is I believe, totally acceptable.

Nice finds, but the last two aren't really similar, that's just the classic "hero striking a pose".
