I know you guys have seen one or two... those elusive rare carts that throw a loading screen at you confusing you into thinking suddenly your SNES or Genesis accepts CDs. A big "WTF!?!?!" and laughing always follows. I have seen them too, but can't remember any right now. Care to make a list?? Let's see how many of them we can come up with, considering every console.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 on the SNES certainly loaded although I don't think it threw up a "now loading" screen

I remember a few SNES games like that. Batman Forever had a very annoying "hold on" screen before every scene. Mickey Mania had an obnoxiously long ainmation of Mickey checking his watch between every part of the game.

Actually most SNES games have loading times. You see that long fade out/fade in between screens and areas? That's not for dramatic effect. Barely noticeable but it exists.

Megaman's NES games had that hallway only for RAM limitations, you know.

Games that I remember having load times: Sim City 2000 for SNES, and The World is Not Enough for N64. Perfect Dark felt like it had load times, too - since it had that black screen before each mission (though it never lasted that long).

Street Fighter Alpha 2 on the SNES certainly loaded although I don't think it threw up a "now loading" screen Round 1 (long pause) fight and daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn that game ran slow.

All cartridges have load times, it's just that they are so fast (less than 1 second in 99% of games) that we tend to think there are none. But load times ARE there because the data has to be searched and loaded before you see them. but boi they is so faaaaaast... u ain't even see none

Quake II for N64 had loading times. They were long and annoying.

Oh, how I yearn for the day when people start using the same technology that made the huge-ass 1 GB DS card into making a NES-sized cartridge with the same storage-to-size ratio. Oh, how fast and big it would be.

Wasn't Air Buster for Genesis supposed to be loading levels during the in between level eyecatches?

Uggggh.... I always got mad at how long it took to save a game in the original Mario & Luigi for the GBA. That was the first time loading on a cart got on my nerves.

The original Sim City on the SNES also had loading times whenever you chose a new land map.

I suspect Joe wishes for Cartrigdes the size of NES ones but with the same storage ratio to size of DS carts. Though I think that's unlikely to ever happen, simply because Cartridges are expensive and needless.
