Yup. Cool!
I wrote a review of this. It was posted on Siliconera earlier this week. I would post a link but I'm at work and get can't to it. General verdict - it's better than 4 or 5, still not quite 3 level. The levels are kinda dull but the boss fights are awesome. The new backgrounds are a little iffy, and most of the music is unimpressive, but the different character abilities make it feel a least a little bit more fresh.
Plus you can spend one section of one level riding on the alien boss from MS3.

No mention about the awful upscaled presentation?

The upscaling doesn't bother me really, I honestly don't even notice it, but I'm not a stickler for that sorta thing either. The overall graphics aren't that impressive anyway.
The stretching on the PSP is aggravating. Unless they actually expand the viewing screen horizontally, would be awesome, but unlikely.

This collection will be such a great value that I'm afraid it will devalue these excellent games in a way. I think they should have made them VC titles, releasing each one of them slowly in chronological order. MS1 @ launch, MS2 and MSX near Christmas maybe, MS3 in Feburary, etc.
Oh well. Like I said, seems like a great bang-for-your-buck title.

As Det. Gumshoe would say... WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!!This is great news. I couldn't care less if it's not on the level of MS3, as A. no MS game will ever be as great as 3 because it's just too damn good, and 2. ANYTHING Metal Slug is awesome... maybe except for the 3D game, and based on what I've heard, even that's not horrible.

Yay! I'm wondering how they're going to fit it on that little disk, but fuck, I'm not complaining.
I'm still kinda pissed that the 3D one isn't making it stateside. I've heard many different comments; some say it's awesome, others say it's alright. I'd really like to know for sure, though.

All I have to say is that I am celebrating so merrily that mere words on a message board cannot begin to express my bliss!

As far as run and gun Contra Style goes Nothing is in Metal Slug's league.
Well........has anybody played Dolphin Blue? I haven't I don't know if it's as good as Metal Slug or not.

Is that same squad of Helicopters in it? If so, I really won't be able to muster too much enthusiasm at seeing the same enemies I seen over 10 years ago in the arcade :\
