With Langrisser, there's enough translations and the like kicking about at GameFAQs if you're willing to cross reference things.
Shadowrun is in English and a must play, as is Ys III. Panzer Dragoon Saga is as well, but look to be paying $150+ for a copy of the game (which despite being only 15-20 hours is arguably worth it). I enjoyed Super Hydlide, though the game is not for everyone, and can vouch for the awesomeness of the Lunar games. Warriors of the Eternal Sun isn't too bad, but you're probably better off with Shining in the Darkness or some other game. Almost anything listed is better than Sword of Vermillion.
Shining Force III's first scenario is English (though the 2nd and 3rd are not which continue the game's story, but ShiningForceCentral.com can offer some translation work). Shining the Holy Ark & Shining Wisdom are also in English and while I didn't care for the latter, the former was great.

I'm not really into those first person dungeon crawl games, As I have oblivion and it ties me over for games like that. I'm really looking for these for inspiration.

Shining Force 1, 2, 3, CD Dragon Force Panzer Dragoon Saga Legend of Oasis All in english, none in first person Oh and if you going to play the Lunar games, I strongly suggest you to play the PS1 remakes (the remakes were also for the Saturn, but only in japan). The remakes are really good and worth it.

As far I can tell, all those three Shadowrun games are different, but are all based on a pen-and-paper RPG of the same name (only tried the SNES and MegaCD versions).

Although its not awful, if you are looking for inspiration I would stray from Light Crusader (Genesis/Megadrive)- its as bog standard an isometric RPG as you are going to get. Shadowrun (Genesis) is fairly tough to get into at the start and it has its fans- I myself prefer the SNES version. Crusader of Centy/Soleil (Genesis/Megadrive) is pretty much a Zelda clone although a well executed one and worth a look in my eyes I find Sword of Vermillion (Genesis/Megadrive) a 100% stink-a-thon, but it has its fans. Thats just my thoughts on the four you mentioned

Well arcus oddsey sucks, and so does sword of vermillion. I'm using games like Landstalker and Light crusader mainly so I can get done with more iso, and the rest for RPG inspiration

What's the Mega-CD Shadowrun like? I've been wanting to play that for forever. It's a cyberpunk themed visual novel (ala Snatcher) with turn-based battle sequences. I couldn't make far in the game, since it's fully in Japanese, so I can't tell you more about the game.
