I actualy think the American title screen looks better.
Tried playing this years ago but I didn't manage to finish due to the newer enemies just getting ridiculous to dodge.

What, nobody would play a game about Silvio Berlusconi trying to bed hookers and get liquored up?

Interesting article.
A few things:
"Prime Minster" > "Minister" "With nothing to destroy second level" > "on the second level"
"it was likely considered weirder than weird back in the day." > what does that actually mean? Do you just imagine that the game was considered very weird by 1985 folks? If so, what do you base that impression on?
"game that you'd likely never see today" > I have a similar problem with this kind of statement. The odd thing is that it always goes both ways: "you used to be able to do/say that, now you can't any more" and "that totally wouldn't fly by today's standards". These statements are always very biased and vague. Whoever is saying that is putting their own thoughts into the minds of their predecessors or contemporaries, without any grounding in reality. I for one feel that such a game could very possibly exist today (see "Why I Want To Fuck Barack Obama" for example), and thinking that people who lived before our time were more or less liberated/conservative than us today is almost always wrong. Like one of these TV shows from the 50s predicting that we would all have flying cars in 2000.

Personally I think it's saying that arcade games were underground enough that you could get away with something like this, whereas nowadays it would attract a lot more attention. Nothing to do with liberal/conservative outlooks.

Someone needs to make a sequel to this game called "I'm not sorry".

For some reason, I initially had a vague recollection of having read about this game on HG101 already---but then I realized I was thinking of this: omgjeremy.com/2009/07/01/review-im-sorry/(which is somewhat different, I'd say)
