www.pc98.org/main.htmlYOU WANT GAMES THIS GUYS GOT GAMES. Recently I was doing a game collection of mecha games. See it in general. Well part of the mare on PC-98 Here's the issue THERE ARE BARELY ANY SITES THAT HOST THE DAMN THINGS. Now you'd think a thing like that would have downloads. Hell that site has a few. Here's the catch you have to personally e-mail the guy to get the files. There's also lists of PC-98 games, but never DOWNLOADS. If anyone knows where one can get PC-98 games. SHARE THAT NOW! One thing is though he's got a fair amount of CG gamesBut yeah, we've got x86000 and msx and sharp x1, but no PC-98 games. This all becomes even more ironic when there are PC-98 emulators available. I might as well invest in physical game copies. Alright but yeah PC-98 GAMES GENERAL

I pm'd you some sites. I'm not sure if they're okay to link to on the normal forums, but there are places to get them if you look hard enough.
As for good PC 98 emulators, I personally like Neko Project II and Anex. I keep them both around because Anex plays some games Neko Project II won't and Neko Project II plays some games that Anex won't.

NEC also made the Turbografx 16 (or PC Engine if you like that name better). Fujimitsu made the FM-7 and the FM Towns. I think there's an article on old Japanese computers on this site, but I'm having problems finding it.

Thanks lance I apologize. Yet let's get this ball rolling. Whats some really good PC-98 games. I've played the touhou ones. Those are fun but hard. Yet not much more.
Where does the pc-98 shine the most in your opinion.

Flame Zapper Kotsujin and Net Guardian are both easier than Touhou and a lot better in my opinion. Rusty is very hard, but it takes a lot of cues from Castlevania. I really enjoyed that one. Compile had a whole bunch of stuff released too in compilations. They generally make great games. Sylpheed was on the PC 98, but I think I like the Sega CD version better.
C0-2 Pro made some other games besides Flame Zapper. Last Breakers is pretty good. The gameplay reminds me of Brave Blade, where you're a ship that can transform. Garudius and Ulamander rip off Konami, but are fun despite how lazy they look.
I personally liked Alantia, but that has some problems with bad controls and is way too hard to realistically complete without save states. I personally loved it, though.
Last Guardian and Last Guardian 2 are fun SRPGs, but I don't know the story because it's in Japanese. Something to do with bird people fighting in a war.
Ceramic Ball and Kote De Mekuru are puzzle games. They're a lot of fun too. I think Kote de Mekuru was by Compile.

You're slightly confusing the Silpheed history - it was on the PC-88 (originally), never on the PC-98. But then, it was even released in America for IBM and Apple computers there.

I've only recently started exploring PC98 emulation and find everything quite amusing. I found some PC98 games via Filecrop search engine but I guess the Tokugawa forums might be the best bet. Also, for Japanese-reading people, this is my favorite PC98 games database: mercenaryforce.web.fc2.com/pc9801/pc9801.htmlIt only has a few screenshots per game and no description, but it contains almost everything divided by genre. See e.g. the Ys entry: mercenaryforce.web.fc2.com/pc9801/pc98/00055.htmlps. Just noticed there is a UK flag on top, translating game titles and everything.

www.pc98.org/panicb.htmlPanic Bomber was converted by Riverhill Soft / ASCII in 1995. I'm surprised that the "good" emus doesn't show that ...

Kale, the company info displays fine on both T98 next and Nekoproject, it just takes a while to appear. Tokugawa also has a database. fullmotionvideo.free.fr/screen/entitle.htmlI didn't realize the mercenaryforce site has an English switch, that's great for the X68000 section.

I get PC 98 and PC 88 mixed up a lot. I was at wit's end once trying to get Sa-Zi-Ri running on Neko Project II for a while until I remembered that it was for PC 88.
