Looks fun. President Shinra really lost some weight for this one. And are they introducing a new soldier rival? I wonder how far the game will get until we are left with "To Be Continued..." for the next release. Since it looks like it goes as far as the first Jenova fight and the first face-to-face with Sephiroth -- or they're switching around the sequence of things.

Has anyone else seen this video?
Yes, it's bloody long; I suggest watching it at 1.5x. But so compelling! Perhaps less so if you are immersed in the competitive Melee community.

Have to say the remake of FF7 looks something I'd enjoy. I could never really get into the original version (except maybe once with cheat codes on Gameshark,) no matter how many times I've tried. Shame no Switch port...yet.
In other news, I went to Chucky Cheese for my niece's birthday and saw two Nintendo arcade games. One for Mario Kart and the other for Luigi's Mansion. Didn't play them though as I felt it's more aimed at children. Surprised they had Namco and Capcom's names on the machines. Being there made me wish for the arcades of old. More pre-Street Fighter 2 ones.

Mario Kart Arcade GP series is totally legit! If you ever played PS Move Ape Escape,Luigi's Mansion Arcade is kinda like that.

Happy Birthday Creamcheese! Hope you enjoy some Metroid Prime and crush it this weekend! I'm not really into FPS type games, but Metroid Prime at least managed to hold my interest to a certain point. It's been ages since I played it, but I recall it really feeling like Metroid, with all of its different elements, but translated into a 3-D world. But I also feel like I got stuck somewhere, and then it's all a blur from there. Thanks! I haven't been able to play it yet this weekend, though. Hopefully any day now. I'm really curious about how the Metroid formula translates into 3D/first person. I've played a decent amount of Metroid by now, and they are in essence very tile-based when it comes to the exploration. Especially since it was only the fourth Metroid, so it didn't have a whole lot to go on yet. Either way it's always interesting to check out a classic.

Metroid Prime is a really good adaptation into first person 3D that people really didn't think would work at first, and part of why it does is that it isn't quite like the 2D games. Some abilities work slightly differently for instance. There is one spot where it isn't clear where you're supposed to go, and I always end up looking up what to do.
If you go onto Echoes, just get MP Trilogy on the Wii U eShop. One of the bosses in the original release is notoriously for being overly difficult and is toned down there.

Platinum is teasing something... four.platinumgames.com/What can it be? Bayonetta 4 would make absolutely no sense. Perhaps it’s four new games being announced? Or maybe something unexpected. What if Platinum is making Ninja Gaiden 4 for Tecmo or something. Hmmm...

So finished Peace Walker and I've mixed feelings about it. The main game is great. The stealth action and the bite sized areas and missions really work well. It's a lot of fun. The boss battles however don't really work but they are a small part of the game.
The post game though is not great. Any stealth missions are great fun but the majority of post game missions are against vehicles and bosses and just aren't a lot of fun. Maybe on coop they are better but I was well sick of them by the end.
Also the Paz dating mission was ... Creepy
Also finished gato roboto. It's a bite sized metroidvania about 3 hours long and it's.... Ok. It's not the best metroidvanias and the best thing about it is it doesn't outstay it's welcome. But it isn't amazing either.

The Wonderful 101 is going multiplatform and Deamon X Machina is coming to Steam. I really thought Nintendo had more stake in those games. Especially since they had somewhat of a representation in Smash, too. I mean, if that's anything to go by. If I enjoy MP1 enough on the GCN I'm planning on doing MP2 on there. The motion controls is such a large change from how the original that I'd need a pretty good reason to go for the Wii version. Plus I'll take any excuse to play a game on my CRT TV. But I'll look into it when I get there to be sure.

Finished some games recently-ish.
Persona Q2. Was fine. The characters and dungeon puzzles aren't as annoying as in the first game. I would have liked it to be a bit easier, since I mainly wanted it as a cute, fun and simple romp, not much of a taxing dungeon crawler. It's also too long. It has the same problem as P4 and 5 in that it would have been a nicer conclusion would it have ended once the societal/personal demons made flesh were defeated instead of going on for an additional dungeon to fight the god that is truly behind the phenomenon TM. But Overall it is fine and I'd say an improvement over the first Q.
Liberation Maiden. I decided to get the rest of the Guild games now that the 3DS is dying. It's a bit low on enemy variety, but with being a game of an hour or two, that's not really much of a problem. Fun and short, as expected from a shmup.
River King: A Wonderful Journey. Just as A Wonderful Life is the worst Harvest Moon, A Wonderful Journey manages to be the worst River King. Well, maybe the second worst after the NES original. I guess at least they got rid of the RPG battles that always felt missplaced in the earlier games, but the game is butt-ugly, the quest design is bad and the fishing more annoying than fun.

So I finished off the stars that I missed the first time around doing 150cc in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
