So,just like the Budokai HD remasters, this doesn't really count as making the original game available on modern systems, right? Is emulation the only way to play the original version, then?

I too have mixed feelings about going with Young Nier for the remaster. It certainly makes some scenes less awkward, like everyone going "OH, you are so different" after the time skip, even though old Nier looks exactly the same besides wearing some dumb half diaper over his ugly mug. But I do think the father daugther relationship overall resonates better. Would it been really that hard to just give players the option which of the two alternations one wants to play at the beginning of the remaster?

I had been playing Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY, but it ultimately wasn't able to keep my interest. The actual dungeon crawling is too basic even if it's hypothetically fun to pair up with a favorite monster. That's the same problem I have with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. It's also a little annoying that job progression and unlocking new buddies is tied to random drops instead of being constant. It is cute to see the chocobo dressed up as different jobs, but that's about it. Maybe I'll go back to it eventually, but that was the same thing I said about WoFF Maxima a year ago, and I haven't touched it since. I kinda feel I only downloaded it so I could have every FF currently on Switch. Still need to get through VIII, X-2 and Last Mission.

I agree on WoFF. Started playing it in hopes to get a cute, fun, easy little short adventure out of it that likes to poke fun at its mother franchise. And while it does the later, I too got bored by it pretty quickly and haven't picked it up again since.

Square Enix released Collection of Mana for the Switch last year. Wouldn't it make since for them to do another collection involving the Earth and Heaven trilogy with Soulblazer, Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma (there's also The Granstream Saga but I can do without that.) It would be a good thing as Terranigma was never released in North America. Have to use emulation to play this one.

Not sure these are in very high demand compared to a lot of other old IPs from SquareEnix, but sure, why not? I think it’s more likely they’d be added to the Switch online service though.

Pretty sure there was some legal complications with the Quintet games. Don't think they every re-released any of them outside of the first Act Raiser.

I kinda love the idea. Yes, it's a really daft idea and arguably unnecessary, but that's why I like it. It reminds me of those attempts to make Frogger relevant by turning it into a bog-standard 3D platformer, or sudden genre shift spin-offs to long-established franchises like Resident Evil: Gaiden, Donkey Konga or Pokémon Conquest (yes, I know it's a Nobunaga's Ambition game with Pokémon but that's equally out-of-nowhere). It's weird enough to be interesting all on its own, but it could also turn out to be a pretty decent game or even better if things go well. And I'm hoping this goes well, because I've missed having unusual genre-shifting spin-offs for very popular series and would love to see more of them again.

Didn't Atari already give us a really good Pong reboot on PS1? The new Atari is doing the exact same thing that Infogrames Atari did.

I think it's going to come down to how much variety there is, and the trailer does show potential in that area.

Finished Rusty's real deal baseball. Well finished the story and the challenges that didn't make me want to break the 3ds over my knee... And a few that did.
Found it to be a fantastic rhythm action game along the lines of the warioware games. Shame it never got a release in Europe. I really like it's approach to freemium games as well.
