I am just happy we got some Elden Ring footage (even if it released ahead of E3). Now I’m holding my breath for a good Nintendo Direct. I’m not expecting miracles but I expect Bayonetta 3. It HAS to be there. And I expect Metroid, in some shape or form. I’m thinking there’s gonna be a 2D Metroid from MercurySteam, with a fall release.
Other than that? Well, Zelda obviously. 2-3 ports for the anniversary, of games we’ve already played to death, and then possibly a release date for BotW2? Xmas? Early 2022?
Then I wonder if it isn’t time for a new mainline Mario already... We all know they’re working on it.

I'd be very surprised if there wasn't anything on Bayonetta 3 or MP4. They were both announced in 2017 and there hasn't been much since. Kamiya pretty much outright said there'd be info this year and now makes the most sense. Retro was hiring storyboard artists last year so I'd assume things have progressed to the point that they can show something.
I'm mainly interested in the games Monolith has in the pipeline that still haven't been announced. I'd like to see an X2 rather than a remake of the first game. There's barely any plot in it X so it wouldn't be too hard to give a recap or even make the story parts playable.

I think guessing when Nintendo is going to unveil/give updates on games is harder to guess than what they're actually making, honestly, given that they're quite comfortable revealing some games weeks before launch, and others get long marketing cycles. They've been happy to have a game announced weeks either side of a big direct as well which can cause confusion. And of course COVID has had a massive impact on development times.
If I had to guess, I'd say the biggest lock is SMTV, with a full gameplay trailer and release date.
BotW2 has a good chance of showing up as well as other Zelda remasters - Nintendo has a Zelda Anniversary promo poster that's been sent to stores as a give away so presumably that's going to be a big topic.
I also think Samus Returns sequel should show, and release Sept/Oct. Maybe they'll tease or give an 'it's going well' update on MP4 at the same time. Not expecting that to land until 2023 personally.
Monolith has a good chance also, as does Bayonetta 3, but they could also be held back to September or even later. I really want to see something new from Monolithsoft. I love Xenoblade, but Switch has plenty of content for that series and I'd love to see what else they can do.
I know Nintendo had been employing for an internal 2D platform game for a while. Switch doesn't really have a big flagship 2D platformer, so it'd be nice to fill that gap.
More wild guesses that could be due are Fire Emblem, Kirby, or something from the Mario Kart team. And of course there's often something completely out of left field.

Playing Blood Omen 1. Any way to speed up time to get to the full moon quicker? Maybe that's not a good idea though, idk?

I'm hoping for a new Star Fox title. Very likely there's going to be at least one Smash reveal. Perhaps a new Mario Kart.

I'm not going to expect too much specifically, but I'll say that I will be disappointed if BotW2 doesn't finally show up. If this is still not the time to reveal that they let that one out of the bag way too early with that teaser. It was always obvious they were working on a new Zelda, so unless they absolutely had to get the information that the new Zelda will be BotW-styled out in the world as soon as they could for some reason, I don't see why they would do that teaser. Not too sure if they're gonna do Zelda 35th stuff. It seems weird to do that in a regular (E3) Direct, but also it seems a bit weird to not reveal Skyward Sword HD as part of that? Bowser's Fury tells me a new Mario game isn't going to happen yet. I don't think Prime 4 is ready to be shown yet. It feels a little early for a lot of other franchises like Kirby, FE, Xenoblade too, so maybe this year will be very unexpected. F-Zero would definitely be a surprising reveal at this point in time. Maybe Devil World 2 will finally happen? Outside of Smash DLC and BotW2 I honestly can't think of anything big they could reveal. Only smaller stuff like the Age of Calamity DLC comes to mind, and just talking about previously revealed titles like Splatoon 3. Maybe another Fire Emblem Echoes? I think guessing when Nintendo is going to unveil/give updates on games is harder to guess than what they're actually making, honestly, given that they're quite comfortable revealing some games weeks before launch, and others get long marketing cycles. They've been happy to have a game announced weeks either side of a big direct as well which can cause confusion. They have definitely been more unpredictable in recent years. I think it's mostly that they seem to give smaller titles and ports a shorter time between reveal and release. Big stuff like BotW2, Splatoon 3 and MP4 they still try to do a bigger hype cycle. But even then, stuff like Mario Odyssey and Smash got a pretty short wait for titles of that importance, but I guess that made sense given those games' circumstances. Interesting how they decide that.

Yup. It helps, but not that much. I guess I'll just try to note down the moongates and fast travel to them when I get the chance.

Just as long as any sequel gives a thorough breakdown of every Tatsu looks like a potato joke going. We really need the world to know how delicious he clearly is and all the ways we might cook with him (by which I mean I had to sit through all these awful jokes and therefore everyone else must suffer through the same as a gateway to any sequel).

Metroid Dread huh. We guessed everything right (2D, MercurySsteam, fall release...) but I doubt many of us saw that name coming

A bit blown away by that Direct. I think I want to buy everything . SMTV was game of the show for me. Looks great. Curious with Metroid Dread - how much does this have in common with the original concept of the game? Perfect.

Yeah, that's basically the only thing that mattered. Is MercurySteam actually confirmed though? I kept an eye out for any developer info, but I didn't see anything. My stream was being a little weird during it so maybe it got lost in the blur.
It was a pretty good Direct overall. Big one for me aside from Dread was a real info on SMT V and a release date. Looks like it'll actually be worth the wait.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water knocks down another Wii U exclusive. That was in interesting experiment in "pricing", but it's good to see it have a better chance.

I doubt there's a whole lot of resemblance to the original version. From the little bits of info that have come out over the years, I'm assuming this is a Return to Dream Land situation where elements from a bunch of scrapped versions came together except there was a leaked name in this case.
