is that game like pokemon? Well, there are lots of monsters to collect/level up etc... but it is more of a dungeon crawler than anything which is why I sorta have a lot of love for it. Alas, the floors are not randomly generated like the PSX versions...

Metal Gear Solid/Ghost Babel is about the best GBC game I can think of. Elevator Action EX (which seems to have only ever been released in Europe)...um...can't think of much else that I played a lot (that wasn't a port, anyway) though I heard Shantae was pretty good. Elevator Action EX actually came out in the US, but, unfortunetly, it was turned into a Dexter's Labarotory game. I also noticed the mention of both Frontline The Next Mission and Sgt. Rock. Sgt. Rock is the US version of Frontline the Next Mission. One GBC game I really like is Xtreme Sports. Despite the crappy title, it's actually a fun multi-event sports game. Toki Tori is another good GBC game. Very puzzly and gets quite hard on later levels.

Monster Rancher Explorer fun puzzle/adventure (sorta) game. I got it for 99Cents at a local EB games a year or so ago. Monster Rancher Explorer is actually a GBC version of the Solomon's Club/Solomon's Key games. It shares many levels with Solomon's Club and I think a couple with Solomon's Key NES (need to check this), but the game engine and story are all new. It adds bosses and a level editor too. It was called Solomon in Japan, though AFAIK, the Japanese one still has the Monster Rancher characters in it. Definatly a very good game, though I'm not sure if I like it as much as Solomon's Club.

While I could probably whip up a nice list of GBC games to talk about, I think I'll just talk about two odd ones for right now:
- GB Harobots - Kotobattle
Both games are Japanese, and they both have odd gameplay that make them unique and fun to play. GB Harobots has you going to all kinds of places battling to improve your harobot or just playing little mini-games, but Kotobattle is the one strangely enough that really has my attention. It's kind of like a card game like Magic/Yu-Gi-Oh/etc., and it has a lot of rules and the like, but it isn't overly complex.
You have several monsters who grow in power as your main character does, and they can be used in a number of ways, such as a defender, an enhancer, or a spell your main guy can dish out on friends or foes. It's like pokemon where you can challenge people, but it's also like a traditional RPG where you can get into random battles and win rare cards and items. You also have what is known as "Combination" attacks, which can be used by gathering cards of different elements in the proper sequence. I'll probably make FAQs of those two someday.
