I dislike most capcom games because they aren't beginner friendly. I can pull off usually two moves for two characters and it doesn't help that if you lose the instruction manual unless you have gamefaqs on hand you are screwed in the moves department. Seriously

Do you not see the difference between reading someone's mind/pattern and seeing someone take an action, then avoiding it? Now you confused me a bit Weren't we talking just about the ability to avoid a hit instead of blocking it in general?

Knowing how to do special moves (and super moves) doesn't make you a great player. While it does help, it is possible to kick someone's ass without ever doing a single special move.
