Man... now both him and Mario are gone. Pretty sad. That hit me hard when Lou Albano died, he was one of my all time favorite wrestling personalities.

I still mourn the death of Carl Sagan although truthfully I'm a bit glad he passed before the age of Twitter because it's made me hate most of my other heroes.

:-( My horrible sketch of Nelson Mandela. I haven't sketched a realistic human face in years...

It really wasn't shocking; the news was reporting his severe illness for quite some time. Still, it's a great loss, as he was a great man.

I honestly thought Mandela had died a year or two ago.

The Onion wrote a fantastic piece about Mandela's passing. Seriously though, Mandela was a genuinely amazing guy. His efforts made the world a better place.

I'm making it a personal goal to know more about him (I bought his autobiography yesterday)... it might inspire me to be better. Also has anyone seen the Nelson Mandela biopic starring Idris Elba as he cancels the apartheid?

Well Shredder died today.
Sorry, it's James Avery, but everyone keeps listing the story as Uncle Phil. And as he was the only Shredder anyone ever remembers...

I searched that name and sadly couldnt find anything.
Lou Reed, James Gandolfini and Peter O'Toole were big ones.
Loads of genre writers died last year: Jack Vance, James Herbert, Iain Banks, Rick Hautala, Joel Lane and probably many more.

Should also mention musician Lindsay Cooper of bands like Henry Cow and Comus and many more.
Kim Thompson of Fantagraphics Books.
Comic artists Keiji Nakazawa, Carmine Infantino, Nick Cardy, Al Plastino, Jose Ortiz, Dan Adkins and translater Toren Smith.
