Found out on Entertainment Tonight (a show I hardly ever watch) that Joan Rivers has passed away yesterday.

It was all over the internet yesterday. Pretty hard to miss.
On one hand I really respect Joan Rivers for being a pioneer in "edgy" comedy--she was about 15-20 years ahead of her time. Kathy Griffin and Sarah Silverman obviously crib a lot from her. On the other hand, I could never get on with her occasional shallowness and obsession with fat shaming actresses who really aren't actually fat.
But, she made her name and stayed relevant for quite a while. In fact, she even had a bit of a career renaissance in the past few years after falling out of public consciousness for a while during the early 2000s.

She was the famous red carpet lady right? I thought about posting about it the other day, but I really had no clue who she was.

I honestly don't care either way about her death, but supposedly a lot of people liked her work. She wasn't evil, I guess?

I was a bit surprised to hear she died. I hadn't caught word of it until just a little while ago. It reminds me that there's been quite a number of celebrity deaths this year, with Robin Williams' being one of the most surprising.

She wasn't evil, I guess? Holocaust jokes, fat-shaming, randomly calling people trannies, "Palestinians deserve to be dead", miscarriage jokes... you might have guessed wrong.

I forgot how nasty she could be. I wouldn't say I was particularly saddened by her death, mostly it's just that I never really considered the possibility of her dying. Eksfaktr streaming Captain Blood the other day was appropriate considering her recent death; I guess I always imagined her gradually replacing her body parts with artificial ones and then roaming the cosmos making shady comments about how aliens looked. Like the only way I could imagine them ever killing her was if they gathered up all of her cast off bits of nose and cheek flesh and whatever and then burned it and then killed her ghost like in Simon's Quest. But she just died like a normal, how disappointing.

I know you can appreciate this, but I enjoyed the Nip/Tuck episode where she wanted to get her surgeries undone, then saw she'd look screwed up and said NOPE. BTW, Truett Cathy, founder of Chik-Fil-A died at 93. And somehow Twitter isn't flooded with SJWs rejoicing... what the hell is wrong with this world?!?!?!
