Master of Darkness seems like a popular bill with the worst rider in history attached to it. I voted Super Spy : The Wade Hixton Chronicles.

Super Spy/Wade Hixton for me too, since I 'sampled' both some years ago and liked them

I must be the only one who enjoyed Master of Darkness and disliked The Super Spy, then.

Now that the Twitter poll is up, I'm going to leave it going up until Friday. We may be starting this a bit later, but none of these games should take too long to play.
Also, I'm voting for 8 Eyes/Master of Darkness by default, since 8 Eyes is the only one of these games I haven't really played all that much. Which seems like a good thing and I may regret voting for it if it wins, but at least it's something new and I get to play MoD again. Also, Milon can die in a superfire for all I care.

I vote for The Super Spy/Counter Punch, as well. Just because everyone should experience the dullness that is Super Spy.

Posting this on the second page for those that missed it: December's TwtpollRemember, votes in the thread are no longer counted! So if you've voted here, be sure to vote for this month's game on the twtpoll. Speaking of which, Milon is dangerously close to catching up to The Super Spy/Wade Hixton one-two combo. I'm not sure my body is ready for a Milon victory. Edit:And of course as soon as I say this, Milon sees a huge jump in votes. Shit.

Poll ended, Super Spy/Wade Hixton won, nobody died! I'd say this is a victory for everyone involved.

True, but I wonder if we should factor in discussion of other games akin to Punch-Out!! and these two in case we end up a bit short. Perhaps a bit of the podcast would be on Punch-Out!! itself, but what other games are like it... all I can think of is that Hajime no Ippo game Treasure made in Japan for the GBA.

There are actually quite a few Punch-Out clones and games inspired by it. The Neo Geo has not one imitator, but two! The first is obviously The Super Spy, but the other is Crossed Swords. Of the two, I'd say Crossed Swords is better, but they're both interesting games. Besides those two, there's Teleroboxer for the Virtual Boy, and the recently released Beast Boxing Turbo.

So, does Super Spy have to be 1CC'd?
Though honestly, I don't want to play Counter Punch. It's SO. FREAKING. BORING.

Others I can think of are Boxing Fever and Punch King, both for GBA, from Majesco and Acclaim, respectively. The latter especially seems to take after Super Punch-Out!! mostly, the SNES one. All the other GBA boxing games are just side-view stuff, except for Mike Tyson Boxing which seems to use a somewhat top-down view. I will admit that I have never played any of those, so I dunno if they're good or not.

I never realized how many clones there were on the GBA. Why did that system see so many Punch-Out clones, anyway? Was it the limited number of buttons? I find it strange there would be so many of them in such a short time span.

Then there's the Frank Bruno's Boxing for home computers, which is the Giana Sisters of Punch-out series, and the really crappy Power Punch 2.
