KC was one of those games that, along with Jewel Master, had that "Overgrown Master System Game" feel to it.
Though I personally found Jewel Master much, much more appealing.

This is a game that has benefited *greatly* from the re-releases on the PS2/PS3/Xbox360/VC because of the save features on those collections. It's definitely the preferred route if you are playing this game today.
My main complaint about this game is KC's tendency to sort of slip and slide after stopping.

I remember this game getting a bit of hype in the british gaming mags of the day when it was released, and it seemed an interesting concept.
I eventually tried it via the Playstation 3 Megadrive compliation. I actually got stuck on I think it was eitehr level 2 or 3 (There was a section with a really long ceiling and I couldn't jump high enough.. Turns out the helmet you had at that point alows you to climb on the walls)
I got far enough to get maniaxe which unlocked a tophy adn then gave up on the game, it felt a little too clunky and slow controlling for my tastes.
Not bad, mind, just not for me.
