Took me two tries or so to get it right, but I still did it. Yeah but that makes it one of the more difficult challenges, doesn't it? Most challenges can easily be nailed in one attempt even if you haven't played the specific game in a while.

The hardest challenge I've seen was getting a score of 50,000 in Star Prince 3min mode. Took me four tries. ANYWAY, I think I'd like to talk a bit about the real-world influences for these games. It's not always that easy to pin down! Mutekiken Kung-Fu is obviously Karateka meets NES Kung-Fu. But what is Wiz-Man's inspiration? Pac-Man? Clu-Clu Land?

The title logo and colors are totally Namco.

There's definitely some Druaga in there. Finding out how to make the light magic wands spawn in each stage is a very Druaga-y mechanic.

I'll have to check the Japanese version, but I'm wondering what the game store name is in the original? I like how the "Joycoland" logo has the different colors like the old Funcoland one (I'm going to cry now, I miss Funcoland...).

Hi, Aaron here (guy behind this patch)
I hope you enjoy it. I did find one spacing issue in the Adventure game but I'm looking to see if anything else could be patched or fixes before I release yet-another patch.
The challenges are easier overall I think, maybe a bit tedious in spots but that is it.
The Daily Challenges have 360 challenges in total. Some of them are actually pretty brutal but I'm not sure if they are not available until after a while. I can list up all the challenges if anyone is interested.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the game, Aaron

As a preview for some of them:

Cool, so the daily challenges get increasingly difficult as you build up points, then. That's a nice feature.

They do but I'm still not convinced you don't get some of the harder challenges much earlier on. The Rally King ones tend to be the ones people have the most trouble with, especially the ones where you have to finish some of the courses in under 50 something seconds...I think one was 48 seconds. Anyway, I can list them all up later if you want. You will need 99,999 daily challenge points to unlock everything. The main game challenges aren't so hard, I agree. Only the last one where you have to beat all the games takes a bit of time. If you want to beat Guadia Quest Saga legit and the EX dungeon that is a good 12-15 hours. I actually had a couple of users so obsessed with that RPG they sent me a few hundred corrections in the first few weeks after the initial release. Some people really love their Guadia Quest, I guess. Oh, I have translated the entire game manual (the physical one that came with the game) but the graphics guys will be busy for a while making that up. There are alternative DS Case printables available, too. I haven't touched the spreadsheet listing up everything young Arino says on the game but with 1290 voice samples that could take a while.

Great to see you on here, Aaron. Thank you very much for finally bringing us this game. Not to sound like a sap, but it's been a real inspiration for the budding fan translation scene. I actually ran into a bit of a tough challenge today with Star Prince SA: Earn 150,000 points in special bonuses only. I had to go nearly halfway into stage 2 to finally accomplish this. Good thing I was able to find the secret tomato in both levels.

That's exactly the same challenge I got today. The trick (aside from finding the hidden bonuses) is to destroy weapon power-ups! Shoot a weapon power-up several times and it will act like a bomb, destroying everything on the screen and giving you a nice big bonus based on how many ships you hit with the blast.
And yeah, thanks for making the effort to translate this game. It's a great game and you did a damn fine job with the English translation.

Seconded, I LOVE being able to talk to the people who actually authored these things! =) Also Sotenga, unless it specifically tells you you can't, you can bring Arino in as a second player. And he's REALLY good at getting those SPECIAL bonuses. Just don't fight him for the weapon powerups, you'll lose. =P

That's only available for GunDuel, IIRC. And I think he's told me I need to be one-player for every GunDuel challenge I've seen so far.

Weh? OHHH right. I forgot which game was which, lol. But yeah, GunDuel does have a couple that are totally legit to play in 2-player.

If you're still checking this thread, there is one thing I'm quite curious about. What's the highest attainable rank in the Training game, and what score and/or level is needed to reach it?
