Alright, I finally managed to get a copy of the games! Is it better to play these in DOSBox, or is there a parser that removes some of the hassle?

You'd probably best with something like WinFrotz, from my own personal experience.

I'm using Gargoyle personally, but any will work fine. See my post earlier in the thread regarding renaming EDIT: YAY!

Awesome I started using Gargoyle for Zork II and may replay the endgame on Zork I since it cuts off the ending when you make your final move in Dosbox. So far Zork II is pretty interesting, I feel kind of proud of myself for figuring out how to deal with the dragon. One thing is though that the solution depended on a random encounter, which I could imagine would be annoying. That, and there's a room (Carousel Room) which is annoying as hell - I've got it mapped out as to what paths from what rooms lead there, but there's no way (at least from what I can see) to predict where you'll be when you leave it, which is really annoying.

So I scanned my complete set of Zork maps I ended up with. Enjoy! Click on any one for a higher res scan. Granted, anyone who picked up the GOG version can look at the InvisiClues map, and there are plenty of maps online I'm sure. But these have my personal touch.

I think it's more legitimate to the spirit of this if they use your maps though.
I just downloaded the MDL version of Zork and I'm going to try getting it set up, to see how it plays compared to the broken-up version. If I can get it working I'll get links up for it if anyone's interested.

Ok well I found a pre-patched version of the MDL/mainframe edition of the game and looks like my maps are worthless for the most part. Layout is way different once you get underground, and the forest is seriously annoying to get out of.

I have to draw a text adventure, I hate you guys so much you have no idea. I'm glad to see you did decide to go with the idea of drawing a grue. I was kind of excited to see how it was going to turn out.
