I haven't tested it out yet but someone on Steam posted a mod for the controller config to like, actually work with the 360 controller: Edit: Link removed because it was probably a troll. Fuckers.

I tried that and it actually made everything worse. For some reason, a lot of things were bound improperly or not at all, and I wasn't able to do much in game other than move Trane around.

I originally intended to give this game a shot but any chance of that happening disappeared the moment I started playing Bloodborne. =/

If you guys like, I can scan the PS2 controls page to give you an idea what 'should' be bound to what. You know, before I trade it in for some pittance of store credit at the local retro game shop. EDIT: Well, I went ahead and did it anyways. Here are the controls page, and the combat controls section. The game actually has a surprisingly well put together full colour manual, complete with background information on the major characters and everything. zerker.ca/misc/getting%20up%20controls.pdf

Yeah I just tried it, I wonder if those guys were doing that as a troll. Fuckers. I'm getting to the point where I give it one more shot and then I'm going to talk about how much better Scarface is for my part of the podcast. It kind of pisses me off, frankly, that Devolver did jack and shit to make this playable on a gamepad. If I knew it was going to be this shitty I'd have just bought a copy of the PS2 game off Amazon and been done with it.

Why not just play the ISO on PCSX2?

Why not just play the ISO on PCSX2? Tbh didn't occur to me. I I did get the controls working finally, I don't know what went wrong at first. Just saved KRY-1 in the subway, it's not a bad game I guess but it's really tedious.

PCSX2 works all right for me. There are some sound issues where some of the sound effects will have points where they stop playing, and the frame rate isn't always perfect. Then again, that second part might be a fault of the actual game, for all I know. It's definitely playable, though.

The PC version on Steam is a big pile of shit, and quite frankly Devolver can go fuck themselves in the ass with the $15 I gave them. Among other things, you can't even see the spray pressure indicator - I know someone was talking about fixing it but I just got to the first major "stealth" part and you know what, fuck it. This game is tedious as all shit and I feel like I've played enough to talk about it on the podcast - I may give it another shot if I feel like it later, but the stealth is awful, the combat takes fucking forever, and it's really just not that fun.

The sound thing happened to me on a real PS2, so it's not just PCSX2 Joestar, it sounds like we stopped around the same place.

It gets a little bit better after the first forced stealth segment, but not much better. There are stealth segments later in with spotlights that are pretty bad, but at least they don't have respawning guards.

Man, how many GC9X artworks are going to involve characters being on various forms of drugs? =P
