The poll is closed! View the results here.JOHN ROMERO IS ABOUT TO... oh, you know the rest. Daikatana (GBC, and we swear this is absolutely nothing like the original) You can play the original PC version too, or god forbid, its N64 port to see what this game is based off of, but we're officially sticking with the not-crappy Zelda-like Game Boy Color version. We're doing you a favor! PRO TIPPZ:- None yet! Be the first to submit a tip for whichever wins.
Voting will last until Tuesday, September 1st, at 10:30 PM EST/2:30 AM GMT! *NOTE*: When voting, please choose a game that you want to play - and will play - but have not beaten entirely or beaten recently, say, within the last 5 - 10 years. You may not vote for a game that you have played or spoiled within the last year! It's also best to vote for a game that you have not played before. All votes are final, so no going back if you change your mind. If you're going to vote, we'd like to have you along for the ride! Previous 3 GC9X Threads:

I've actually played each of these game's other incarnations, so I'm not sure which to vote for!

Wow. What a selection. I've never played Daikatana, but always wanted to. But I love Willow and Rygar and would love to play them again. Plus I own Rygar. I'll be mulling this one over.

I went Daikatana as well. I went with one I've never played.

Isn't the Willow game supposed to be one of the more Nintendo Hard games released for the system? Eh... I"ll jump on the terrible bandwagon and vote for Big Sword (Daikatana).

Nah, Willow's difficulty is pretty reasonable. Helps to map it out, though.
I never even knew there was a GBC Daikatana and it actually looks pretty cool. Shame it's kinda pricey, as it only came out in Europe.

I was surprised when the original Daikatana was released on Steam, considering its infamy.

I was surprised when the original Daikatana was released on Steam, considering its infamy. That didn't stop them putting up the Postal games...

According to Wikipedia, John Romero released the ROM for free. However, I can't seem to find it on any of his recent web sites. It doesn't seem like content was ported over from rome.ro to either romero.com/ or planetromero.com/, and www.johnromero.com/ doesn't load anything.

It's buggy, poorly suited for the engine, and crass; but fantastic. I would love a true successor to it, one brought up with some modern design ethos. Also, I voted Rygar, haven't played any of these actually, but I think I heard Rygar is really, really good. I half expected to find Perfect Dark on this list.
