I've always been partial to Greg Martin's (RIP) work, personally. Huh, I didn't know there was one name behind so many of those. Does that mean any of the original paintings wound up in someone's collection?

I love how random the Crack Down cover is, you have two Rambo looking dudes, a Stormtrooper, Satan in the background and to top it all off a chimpanzee.

I know a few off from the top of my head:
How fitting I put only some Neo-Geo related examples as SNK has yet to put out something that isn't KOF XIV nor KOF at all.

I remember renting that Xbox port of Metal Slug 3 once, first time I played a game in that series.

I remember renting that Xbox port of Metal Slug 3 once, first time I played a game in that series. For me, that was the number game I have to get for the Xbox since well I was dyin' for a Metal Slug game at the time that wasn't Advance (Advance was okay though; I didn't gave a s##t about Halo 2 nor it's predecessor).

Love how the neon skyline dwarves everybody. The Fate of Atlantis cover is great, too. Nowhere near as epic, but when I was a kid, I loved the detail and vivid world displayed by this one:

Love that artist. Is it Tetsuo Hara or just a (very) skilled ape of his style?

You may argue that The Last Ninja had great production values but not so good gameplay, but in my opinion there's no denying it had one of the most memorable cover arts from the 8-bit era: And moving on 16-bit systems, if we talk about graphically gorgeous but not very playable games can we forget the game covers from Psygnosis drawn by Roger Dean, the british artist known for providing the cover art for Yes' prog rock classic Fragile?

I like the box of Metal Gear Solid 4. It's just a strong piece, with Old Snake's face dominating the cover with him having a suspicious sideways look at something that we can't see.
I also like the similar box to Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, with the blood-red coloring and Demi-Fiend's face dominating the cover. I think that the PAL version uses a gorgeous dark blue instead of red, which is also quite nice.

The PAL one uses a completely different demifiend artwork (and puts Dante beside it)
