The record warmest day in history in the Netherlands has been broken two days in a row, and the 40 degrees barrier has been crossed for the first time today, so that's just great news. The summer months are just going to be torture from now on. I hear ya, Sweden is right behind you albeit sliiightly cooler (36-ish today. It was definitely worse last summer. Like, India called and wanted its weather back tbh). My tiny studio appartment is an absolute sauna. The nights are especially horrible. I live in a studio appartment as well, and it's terrible. It's in a pretty densely built area and there's a flat roof directly outside of my window that's as high as my floor is, so I live on the worst floor, too. I've pretty much been seeking refuge at my parent's places, since at least they live in houses. Sleeping is still difficult there, though, especially since one day the power went out and the only source of cooling that I have (an electric fan) wasn't available as a result.

Trailer for the new upcoming Addams Family CG animated movie. Can't say I like it. I know the designs are partly inspired by Chas Addams' original sketches, but it's all too similar to Hotel Transylvania and other such cartoons. Also what's with all the rap stuff? (OK, one of the live action movies had MC Hammer, but still...) And that IT joke put in just because Finn Wolfhard is voicing Pugsley and appeared as Richie in the IT movie... It's not that funny and they also missed the opportunity to make a "Cousin IT" joke.

Renegade Cut keeps getting sharper and sharper (also well edited, which is rare combination on YT or any video-base medium). Love that guy!

We're near Halloween so let's post some creepy stuff, shall we?
This looks kinda like crap, and probably it is, however I sort of like the zombie kawaii maid and the fight between the monk and the priest, as cheesy as it is. It's interesting to see one culture portrayed by another one, even if I suspect the fact that the Japanese curse hits the USA is just an excuse to film abroad.

Has it ever happened to you to turn from a fan into a hater of someone? To the point of almost cringing when thinking of them and wondering what was so good about them?
I thought I was above such things but it's what is happening recently to me, and I'm kind of upset since I feel like I should just forget about it but I can't. I won't go into detail since it's a pretty stupid thing to do and I should be adult and mature, and it's not like they did something harmful, despicable or anything, but here we are.

Life's too short to spend it ruminating on hate.
There isn't anyone particular person that I would hate on. Even if it was someone that was close to me who suddenly wanted to inflict damage and pain upon me (like my ex), I feel more sadness and pity for them more than anything.
If we're talking about celebrities who I were fans of, where I have a recent change of opinion, it would probably be Jackie Chan and Bill Cosby. Jackie Chan, as an illiterate nobody who became a somebody, with a bottomless well of talent and ambition is very admirable. But it seems quite sad that a lot of my Hong Kong and Cantonese friends seem to dislike him today, as he comes across as being subservient to the powers that be in China. Bill Cosby is also one of those powerhouses that inspired a legion of stand-up comedians and who just seemed to be a glowing role model for the minority community; what a shocker all this time that he was a cold-blooded, serial rapist.
There's also Bobby Brown, who also turned out be kind of a dick. But what brilliant, shining beacon for new jack swing.
So while maybe their real-life character and choices are cringe-inducing, I still find enjoyment in their past professional work.

For me Jackie Chan just seems to embody the typical "I got mine, fuck you" attitude. He hate the protests in Hong Kong cause then his limo might get stuck in traffic or whatever. He's very comfortable, so all he values is order. But yeah, he's an absolute genius when it comes to both staging and performing combat scenes and stunts in general, and no one can say he hasn't worked like a madman to get to that point. So I can't hate him completely, even if I don't like his stance and what he represents politically. Also his sense of humor is super awful, but that's not really important.

Haha, much of Jackie Chan humor looks to be scripted to be "clean" family-friendly. There isn't really any movie in the past 10 years that I could say I love. All his 1980's and early 1990's fare had better slapstick and non-verbal humor. I wish he had done a few more movies with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao.
On the other end of opinion is Kanye West. Well, maybe not really. I can't say I like any of his music. I wouldn't be able to recognize any of his songs. But for some reason, he is popular enough to earn a reasonable amount of wealth. And at the same time, the guy seems to come off his rocker. I have nothing against organized religion, but overly preachy religious zealots strike me as cringey.

Snake Eh, I hated his '80s slapstick too. I watched Project A II not long ago and it was unbelievable how long that stupid scene where everyone in the house is hiding from each other goes on. Every action scene in that movie is incredible, though.

Project A II's overall script is rather forgettable, but I do love that scene where he is chews up hot peppers, spits it into his hands, and rubs it all over the faces of his pursuers. The first Project A had more going for it. That whole bike chase scene has such a rhythm to each moment.

Although this bit of news is videogame related, due to other issues I decided to post it here. So the Nintendo Switch hacker was finally caught...and also pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.
