I wholeheartedly recommend trying to find something that's worse than Eek! the Cat. I don't know what we did, but I think we did something to piss off @steveneidher really hard, and this is his vengeance.

I like the podcast, it's both interesting and fun to listen to!
However, just like all the other "47,858 Games Of All Time"-lists out there, you are already objectively wrong! I know the correct order, but unfortunately it's a secret to everybody.
Anyway, in episode 005 it is mentioned that some of the Contra Hard Corps staff went on to form Treasure. Of course Treasure was formed a year before Hard Corps' release date. I can certainly see why one might assume that, because in terms of design philosophy and sheer talent Hard Corps and Alien Soldier have a lot in common. I've always seen Hard Corps as a kind of response to Treasure's Gunstar Heroes, like: "See, we don't need you. Even without you guys we can create Mega Drive games that are just as crazy and impressive as yours, if not even more so!"
The Konami games I associate most with the people who went to form Treasure are Super Castlevania IV, Contra III and Axelay. These titles certainly feel like the best Treasure games, because they all have their own identity and are filled with ideas and technical trickery. However, if you look at Moby Games, in most cases the future Tresure employees only had assistant or supporting positions. And in the case of Axelay I could only find one person who went to Treasure, but since he uses the nickname "König" (German for "king") he sticks out if you read the credits. The latter seems especially funny to me, because I'd always regarded Axelay as THE secret Treasure game disguised as a Konami title. And some people also see it as a spiritual predecessor to Radiant Silvergun - so it's not just me.
I guess, the Treasure guys just learned from the best and put that to good use. What really warms my heart is that a personal favorite of mine, the often maligned Castlevania The Adventure, was primarily made by future Treasure staff. And if you look past a few rough edges, you can already see and hear their talent in this game!
Does anybody know a good site that has some facts about the history of Treasure? Actually, if someone wrote a well-researched book about them, I'd buy it!

Glad to see my suggestion has usurped Eek!'s position at the bottom.

Kinda surprised there's so little talk about this series here? Gotta say that they are a lot more fun coupled with the Youtube gameplay videos, but with those, they're great.
(Also I changed my Twitter handle after sending you the suggestions; should I re-submit or anything like that?)

(Also I changed my Twitter handle after sending you the suggestions; should I re-submit or anything like that?) I can update the spreadsheet, yeah. What's your handle, and what'd you nominate? Also, yeah, we're always looking for more comments and criticism from you guys. What do you guys like? What do you want to hear more, or less of? Let us know! We like hearing what you have to say.

I nominated Mega Man ZX Advent, Seiken Densetsu 3 and Streets Of Rage Remake. Current handle's LiLoLvr87 (PLEASE DO NOT MESS UP THE ORDER OF THE VOWELS OR I'M GONNA LOOK REALLY BAD).
I really like almost everything about the show, but I'm not sure if you're doing this to maintain uhm "critically objective distance", but even with super popular games like Final Fight, there seems to be a shortage of "ah man I remember when I used to play this as a kid / when I first played this"-kinda stories. I understand keeping them out of reviews, but a podcast would seem like a natural home for them.

She is precious, stunning and brave, no matter whatever filth you spew at her. And by "is" I mean "was", but this IS a retro gaming website, after all.

Thanks for covering one of my suggestions! Out of all the games I recommended (both good and bad), Revolution X is probably the most interesting for pretty much all the reasons you guys laid out. It's sad, but it's this type of earnest pursuit of bad ideas that has me missing the 90's

It's sad, but it's this type of earnest pursuit of bad ideas that has me missing the 90's Oh, no doubt, Midway games were great for that. I've always appreciated how "loud" they were, both in terms of audio, and just how... for lack of a better word, blatant their visual style was. Ever played Super High Impact Football? That's especially great for such.
