Probably an idea from my previous TV thread. Many things TV today is different and I know some of us miss things from the past of how TV was. I miss the following....
No cussing in commercials-I'm all for freedom of speech but I don't like hearing cussing during commercial breaks. Some parents with kids might not like their kids hearing such stuff is the reason.
When channels showed stuff mainly of what the channel was called-MTV was about music video, History was about historical stuff and Discovery was about science.
Saturday morning cartoons
Certain product mascots-The 7-up Cool Spot, Morris the Cat and that little dog for Taco Bell. Also Pepsi Man was pretty awesome in Japan. Wouldn't mind seeing the guy make a appearance here in the States or any of the other mascots make a return.
Here's some things that aren't my most missed stuff but worth mentioning.
Commercial breaks between the end and beginning of episodes-Great time to get a quick snack or drink.
Uncut openings and ending credits.

Non-ironic action cartoons featuring adult characters.
Action animation is the biggest thing I miss. Most "action" cartoons now are just the odd superhero (that's stilll far less gritty than 90s Batman TAS or Gargoyles) or G-rated adventure shows featuring 12 year old kids.

I rarely watch TV, aside from Jeopardy and the Arirang TV channel. It's much easier just to watch music videos off youtube.
If I miss anything the most, it's just cartoons on TV in general. Cartoons in the morning, when they'd show stuff like Inspector Gadget, James Bond Jr., Ronin Warriors, Voltron. And you'd have two different channels with weekday morning cartoons. And then again when you got back home from school, there would be the Disney afternoon, or Batman the Animated series and the Animaniacs.
Saturdays, there would be like, 3 channels at least filled with cartoons. And even on Sunday. All of that is gone. Anytime I flip open the channel, it's some kind of morning show or news show. Granted, Araksya Karapetyana and Julie Chang are easy on the eyes, but I'd much rather watch cartoons than listen to celebrity gossip.

flipping through channels on late night weekends and finding just weird things to watch. strange movies, B movies, stuff that I later found out was catering to people who were drunk and/or high. That and Mtv from back in the day, especially liquid television.

I miss when western animation was animated more like anime. Not the art style, just the super-fluid motion. Cybersix is a good example (and a good show in general):
Thankfully digital animation seems to be making that more viable:
