Oh yeah, definitely. I don't like Agony much, but the graphics on that game, both loading screens and actual level backgrounds, absolutely ruled.

Same goes basically for all Amiga Psygnosis games- awesome scenere, awesome graphics, mediocre, shallow gameplay.. I always wish some fan would remake those with deep, meaningfull and ballanced gameplay mechanics...

I wanted to disagree, but turns out my only counterpoint is Lemmings so maybe I'll just leave it at that.

While I would agree that most of their games are glorified tech demos, not everything they published was bad. Lemmings has already been mentioned, but there is also Hired Guns, Flink, Leander, Nitro, Wiz'n Liz, Blood Money, Armour-Geddon, Perihelion, Infestation, and probably a few others I forgot.

Perihelion wasn't THAT good. I mean, I love the game, but it's a barely competent Gold Box reskin saved by stunning visuals (albeit not quite in the scope of this topic) and worldbuilding so, typical Psygnosis

Every rule has its exceptions, but.. Perihelion, for me, sure is not one. It looks absolutely fantastic, but have you actually tried playing it?? I made it to the first combat scene, and the path to it involved nothing but guesswork and wandering around a samey looking city...wow. I mean I know at the time rpgs did not hold you hands and stuff, but that? And when I finally reached the combat it wasn't even fun to play, so, nope. Lemmings, Flink and Nitro are good games though, sure. But at that the same time, Nitro and Lemmings don't look that impressive.. Maybe Flink is the only Psygnosis Amiga game which has both good gameplay and stunning visuals?

My answer to a lot of things is Klonoa, and in this case it’s the Sea of Tears in Klonoa 2 which I get a very serene vibe from, even though it’s very stormy and dark. I go there to calm myself down.

Hollow Knight definitely deserves mention. Primarily the Queens Gardens and City of Tears. There are even a couple rooms made solely to just sit on a bench and admire it all.
