Some of you might know that back when Working Designs were bringing Exile 2 over on the Turbo CD, their & Telenet's attempt at ramping the difficulty by boosting enemy stats was so haphazard that it effectively broke the game, rendering impossible to finish without exploiting a specific glitch or outright cheating (HG101's own XZR article explains the situation quite well). Well, recently a romhacker by the name of Supper has been on a roll, releasing patches reverting gameplay changes to Working Designs releases back to their Japanese original. It's debatable whether some games (Lunar) really needed it, but in the case of Exile 2 he's undeniably brought it back to life. It's not as good as the first, so play that if you haven't, but it's still really cool. You can find the patches here. Popful Mail is improved, too, since everything was given massive HP, dragging boss battles out.

Nice, thanks for the tip! I have the others but haven't gotten around to giving them a try just yet.

Nice, thanks for the tip! I have the others but haven't gotten around to giving them a try just yet. The TG-CD version of Exile is great if you like or have an interest for: -Ancient history in general -Chilling with Mani and generally apocryphal versions of obscure historical characters -The sect of the assassins -Exploring RPG towns -Action side-scroller levels -Well-paced games Actually I just realized that some of the story elements are superficially similar to Assassin's Creed, which is funny cause I find AC's writing incredibly awful while I appreciated Exile's. Also, the Sega Genesis version has the most unreadable font of all time.

Seriously, though this is great news. I don't think that grim reaper boss in the tower is beatable hahaha! Looks like I need to DELETE MY ENTIRE SRAM to give this a shot. Fucking Telenet.

True, but they're censored in English. The idea of smoking hashish to heal your wounds is even more absurd than picking up a full chicken off the street and eating it while violent punks are closing in on you, but hey, whatever works for Sadler.

Is it 1 or 2 where you find a turd just chillin' on the street with flies around it? So amazing.

Tried to patch the bin/cue for these games a few hours ago. Seemed like the music wasn't working correctly afterward. I must have done something wrong, going to have to give it another shot later.
