The new Power Ranger movie is coming out next month so maybe we should talk about the franchise. I just finished watching Youtube video of Cinemassacre's review of the series (the early seasons and the movies) and it seems pretty good.
I liked the first two seasons of the show but lost interest as the third one came along. Favorite villain was Lord Zed. Had a cool design. I should say the first time I saw a Super Sentai show was a movie on USA in my youth that was called Dynamen. The movie said at the end to expect more shows to come and boy did it fool me into thinking it was true. (It wasn't.) Well now the new movie is coming and it looks different. Don't like the redesign for that robot that Zordon has for a assistance. And no cone bra for Rita but that would probably been stupid. anyway.

I watched the first two seasons as well as a kid and only the first two seasons. I absolutely loved it then. But the combination of being in middle school as one of two people who actually watched/liked it and the over saturation of sentai like shows I lost interest pretty quickly.

I was a little too old for Power Rangers when it started, so it never really hit the spot for me. The entire enterprise has always seemed to thrive on camp appeal, so it seems incredibly odd for the series to get a zomg serious reboot.

I fell out of it when they kept changing teams and I couldn't catch up.

Most of my experience with rangers involved fighting off the Axem Rangers.

I was the perfect age range for the Power Rangers franchise when it came out. Watched quite a bit of the first seasons, and then got bored once Zeo & Turbo came out. Never been much of automobile enthusiast unless it's got a Bat plastered on the front. I started watching again when Power Rangers in Space came out. It had a nicer darker edge to it that the other seasons just didn't seem to carry. I hear alot of the original super sentai series is like that. Eitherway, the conclusion to the Power Rangers arc in that season is pretty awesome.
I have to admit most of my love for the series comes from the Zords. As a kid who loved Godzilla and dinosaurs already, the first two seasons seemed marketed right at me. I fell in love with the the Dragonzord and to this day it remains one of my favorite robots in all of fiction.
I'm somewhat excited to see the new film. The changes don't bother me that much except for the roles the Rangers play in their civilian lives. I'm curious about how the fighting choreography will be for the fight scenes, and I'm excited for the zord sequences as well.

Oh man year 1997 its not only spend first time on pirated clone of NES(Pegasus) But watching Power Rangers. I never carred for cheesy some scenes and dump putty enemies. Its all about good guys vs evil forces. Much like Sailor Moon anime on same TV channel . Hell! years later some f.gs wanted BAN those shows because they spreading violence in young children. Ban never occured instead MMPR got bumper warning "This show are filmited with real actors and stunt doubles. in case your safety dont try this at home!" while Sailor Moon are safe. but still omited some eps)

I only watched Power Rangers Time Force and Lightspeed Rescue, those are the ones i remember watching, i remember enjoying them alot.
I particularly liked the Lightspeed Rescue Megazords, those were really cool.
Haven't watched any since then, i did watch a few seasons of Super Sentai, mostly Gokaiger, Liveman, Jetman, Dairanger, Carranger(the series where monsters get big by eating a potato sweet from a particular bakery because potato sweets from a supermaket just make them smaller), Dekaranger and Zyuohger, there's just something about the newer seasons that feel a bit off and annoying compared to the old ones so i haven't seen much of those but i like the old Super Sentai stuff.
Maybe i should try seeing Power Rangers again, if only because i am enjoying the comics made by BOOM Studios and there is a movie coming out.

I never got too into Power Rangers. I'm the right age, I think I was 11 or 12 when it came out, but it never really caught me. I watched maybe a handful of episodes. The fights were fun enough but I got bored with the drama bits in between.
There was another sentai type show I liked, though. I don't remember the name but they were inside a computer and fought viruses. I watched that more often.

Yeah, but for some reason that one always stood out more to me than VR Troopers or Big Bad Beetleborgs.

Well I mean, SHSCS takes place inside a computer. With like, 80's style neon CG and everything. VR Troopers is just Power Rangers with worse costumes.

Even so, Red Shoe Diaries probably had a better budget than any of the repurposed tokusatsu stuff.
