So I never anticipated becoming a vinyl collector, but things have sort of worked out that way. Anyone have any tips for good display / storage options for a record collection?

Storage I wouldn't know. I take it you mean something that would be good for preserving them. For display I personally really like those square, open shelves. I've got the same two things from Ikea this guy has, but mirrored (and without all those white things in it). One square is slightly higher and deeper than a record and they come in all kinds of variations. Sadly I ended up using all the available space in them for gaming stuff so my vinyl records are just on top of it in those ugly plastic things. But I knew someone who had something like this but full or records and it looked really sweet.

Aesthetically I've always been a fan of wooden crates like these, but they can get pricey. Other than that I like to use just plain, plastic milk crates to store things out of the way. There's also some decent frames you can get at places like Target or craft stores to display on the wall as well that look pretty good.

My brother and some of my DJ friends would sort all their vinyl on those Kallax squared shelve units.
