Since you seem to be including MSX games, I feel compelled to mention the 1983 ASCII title "Rise Out (from dungeons)," which has a pretty kickin' title screen theme that's actually quite long. It's reused as a short jingle upon completing each stage, and the actual stage BGM is just a short nondescript loop, but that title screen theme more than qualifies this game for your list, I think. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzSDosoTRgwThere are probably a ton of other early MSX games worth mentioning too. If I think of any more, I'll let you know. EDIT: Ah, one of the games I just bought a couple weeks ago is another good example: "Pine Applin," from 1984. Though that game's music is considerably less... erm... good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvHTGee4jc8-Tom

How about Gottlieb's Reactor, from 1982?
Note that MAME doesn't capture the full effect of the music; there was a capacitor across the speaker leads that would make the whole cabinet "thump"; it's quite cool to hear in person.

Damn that's pretty great actually. Thanks!
Anyone know who the composer is?

Nice, thanks. I guess Reactor was a one off for his game composing, it's pretty ahead of its time.
