Does it improve PPSSPP games that are super laggy like the GOW games? Is there a step-by-step installation for dummies in layman's terms? Scared to brick my shit. But if it improves speed for PPSSPP and Irata Jaguar, I want it.

I had to look up what a GPD XD was. I don't have one, but coincidentally I recently flashed my LG phone with a custom ROM, so I might be able to help you. Or maybe not, according to this tutorial it seems to be dead simple. You only need to download the ROM and put the .img in your (FAT 32 formatted-) SD card, then when you insert it the device recognizes the file as a firmware update and updates automatically. Just in case, make an MD5 check of the .rar file with the following command* (on Windows): certutil -hashfile filename.rar MD5 It may take >10 seconds. This checks the integrity of the file (i.e. what you downloaded is bit-by-bit exactly what was uploaded). It should be the same as what is posted in the rom's download page. If you want to play it extra safe, I see there's another method involving your PC that completely formats the GPD XD, which avoids any possible conflicts between the new and the old ROM. Or you could factory reset after the first method, it seems. Obviously you lose all your data, keep that in mind and make a backup. It seems that if you want better performance, you have to install the 1.8GHz version, and then an additional app like Kernel Auditor (and set up the CPU profiles) so you can safely switch between 1.4GHz and 1.8GHz. More is faster, but likewise it consumes more battery and gets hotter, so watch out if you play too long. Be sure to charge the device to >80%, 100% preferably; you don't want it to turn off mid-update. I hope that was helpful, keep us posted! * You must be in the same directory as the file. To easily open a command window from the file explorer, press left shift + right click, then 'Open command window here' or similar.

Thanks but how do I format it in FAT32? So I need to erase all my isos and roms that's already on there? That would suck because I don't have a computer or internet connection.
I guess I should've mentioned that that GPD XD is basically an Android tablet encased in a 3ds Xl shell.

Most SD cards between 4 - 32 GB already come in FAT32, I bet yours probably does. If it's 64GB, then you might need to look for another one. My guess is the GPD's firmware/android version only recognizes FAT32 for SD cards or something like that. With the first method (the one in the video), you don't lose any of your data. If you perform a factory reset afterwards, you only lose the data in the internal storage; the SD card remains untouched. I think you do need a computer to transfer the rom image to the SD card. OR you can try downloading the whole RAR directly into your phone, unzipping it (with this app, for example), and then copying the IMG file into the card. And then maybe remove the card, reboot the tablet, and insert it again? Then the update firmware message should pop up.

I'm using a 128gb card. I use 7zipper to extract any zip/rar/7zip files, that's not a problem. Or to move files around. Just don't want to lose all the games I have on it by formatting it. I'll look more into that video.

Oh, then that 128GB SD card is exFAT most likely, heh. But even a borrowed one will do, it's just for a little while and the update doesn't take up much space.
