Happy Thanksgiving! To coincide with the Steam sales, might as well put up a few indie game reviews. You can get this excellent JRPG for about $7.50 ATM, which is definitely recommended.
So I bought it during the sales, it's really quite good but perhaps not as good as it could have been... I'm 12 hours in by the way.
There still are some bugs that freeze the action in the middle of the battle or after it, so I started saving the game almost after every single battle because it's not clear what triggers these problems.
The much praised battle system looks poorly explained and needlessly over-complicated to me; the various ailments you can inflict all kind of suck and bizarrely there's elemental weaknesses but not elemental strengths.
Also the characters are quite flat and under-developed personality-wise, maybe they could have put fewer of them but with more developed backstories.
For the rest however is a great throwback even if I preferred the simplicity of their earlier games like Cthulhu Saves the World.
