I just read that little editorial and Jesus Christ. He seems like one lonely, contemptuous individual.

It's basically "I'm a supreme gentleman - the poem", yeah.

I guess I misread it because I thought he was advocating for brainier women in porn, but I guess not.
I can totally agree though most mainstream porn sucks and really is misogynistic, he's right on that front.

He is, but he's basically reducing their brains to "that shit is hot" while attacking people who find t&a hot. Neither of them care about the character, both use these girls as means to jack off. IT'S A FUCKING PORN MOVIE. That's the point. But it shows super poor judgement on his portion to brag about his kink and act like he's better than others while not realizing what he's actually saying.

I wonder how Spielberg will handle the Artemis stuff. That portion of the story kind of makes the protagonist come across as a creepy stalker.

"It's really hot how you, like, read books and stuff. You're way cuter than those other dumb bitches. Now come over here and let me jack off on your tits, slut."

Please take note that I creampie you respectfully. M'lady.

Also, according to Wikipedia, bestiality is legal in some countries, like Argentinia or Finland. I'm a bit surprised actually that our European liberal poster child of being Ok with almost anything, the Netherlands, have it illegal. Apparently it is also legal on the US Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, as long as you are a civilian instead of part of the armed services. Germany is a bit weird, since it is legal and not, depending on if you force the animal "into unnatural behaviour" or not.

Yeah, it's surprising that you can't fuck animals in a progressive and modern country like the Netherlands. (?)

Please take note that I creampie you respectfully. M'lady. Uhm, yes? I quite frankly don't see the connection between "less respect for a person" and "specific and/or extreme sexual acts performed". That's getting close to "I can only respect a virgin"-logic here. The bedroom (or the dungeon or whereever) is the bedroom, and other areas are other areas. About animal stimulation... I suppose the veterinary field always gets a free pass as does the breeding industry, no?

There's an excerpt from Armada at the end of my copy of RPO which includes the line, "I reminded myself that I was a man of science, even if I usually did get a C in it." It seems as if he idealizes the appearance of intelligence without any regard for the effort required to acquire it – much like he suggests a person can while away years of his life memorizing movie dialog without being fundamentally changed by the experience.

Well, I saw the movie.
And it's a fun, solid, perfectly inoffensive adventure movie, I think even someone who disliked the book would probably still enjoy the movie, it's fun to see the virtual world of Oasis "brought to life" and I think any gamer could appreciate that.
But I stand by the book though, some interesting stuff from the book is left out, though I do think in some ways the movie does also improve on the book, but in general I appreciated the more deep dive into nerd culture that is the book, most of the references in the movie are stuff most people would get save for a few interesting exceptions.
