I'm currently looking for a good Virtual Boy emulator for Virtual Boy Wario Land. The game works 99% fine in most popular emulators, but there are some thing, like the spike balls swinging back and forth in the very first level, which are glitchy in most of them.
I tried Bizhawk, which displays them correctly, but by default also displays the game in "real" 3D (anaglyph). I tried the various ThreeDeeModes it offers, and side-by-side is the best one. However, I want only one image. There doesn't seem to be an option to just turn one of them off. Is there a way to just a "normal" image?

Not with Bizhawk no. It was a disappointment to me too not being able to have one red image.
Personally I used VBjin. As far as I know, it plays every single game without issues and you can mix both screens into one without 3D (it will look pink though, not red).

VBjin had the issue of the glitched spikes for me, but I'll have it another shot.
