To put it simply, i'm looking for a mednafen savestate of the Pc-engine version with the Force Gear minigame already unlocked.

I have a save state for magic engine. I could also make a bram save, but unfortunately, I don't know what mednafen uses for bram or if it's compatible between emulators. Here's the magic engine backup ram save: www.sendspace.com/file/terduzI don't know which backup format your Magic Engine uses, so I included both. Just place the files where the originals are, load the game, enter the options, go to the omake section and force gear will be there.

Yeah, none of those work with mednafen. It uses .sav files for battery saves and .ms files for savestates.

Use Magic Engine then. There's no other way unless you find a save converter or play the game on your own.

Bummer. I wanted to rip the game's sprites...

You can do that with Magic Engine.

It has a tile viewer?

You don't need one. Just disable the background layer and rip the sprite you want.
Again, you really have no choice unless you play the game yourself in mednafen.

Except you do, especially in the case of large enemies/bosses comprised of multiple parts or which often go offscreen. Anyway, I ended finding a standalone ISO of the minigame floating around. Thanks for the help.
