Apogee's MS-DOS platformer, a very simple affair but somewhat advanced for 1991. I opened this topic because I felt nostalgic, I remember playing this with my dad when I was like 8... I remember the old man turning into a butterfly and flying away after you brought him the token item (and I always tried to shoot him down...), the main character exploding into pink chunks with a horrible grating sound when he lost his last energy, and the several wacky names from the high score table, including "WAREN BEATY" (sic).

I remember this being one of the few Apogee games I never played back in the day, because I simply couldn't get the thing to run. From watching videos on youtube, I don't think I missed out on much.

That waterfall hurts my eyes, but I otherwise like what I've played (I didn't experience it as a kid unfortunately).
Its kinda weird for me, because... well... okay, musically and visual theme-wise it feels like it belongs on the Genesis, except that the graphics themselves look more suited to the NES. Part of me thinks a port to the actual Genesis, with redrawn visuals (and making that one waterfall less painful), would make this game more awesome.

"with an EGA color of 16 colors"
I think that's meant to say EGA palette? Nice article otherwise.
