Added X (Game Boy, 1992), which I thought was a rail shooter but is actually more like Battlezone.

Wasn't X made by Argonaut?

Wasn't X made by Argonaut? Argonaut made the engine, Nintendo made the game. Same situation as, say, Kingdom Hearts 3 using UE4.

X is definitely more Argonaut than Nintendo. It wasn't even originally going to be published by them although they likely did have some input on the final game. Furthermore, it was solely designed and programmed by Dylan Cuthbert. They did way more than just the engine.

The director and graphic designer--key roles on any dev team--were both Japanese, which certainly makes it lean more Japanese than, say Metroid Prime, where those roles were also filled by Americans. The list isn't that long anyway so I'm ok with including cases like this; if there's anything similar (i.e., Western programmer but Japanese director/graphic designer) then I'd be fine with putting them on too unless there's like 100 others like it. I'll include a note by its entry.

And actually, the DSi sequel, X-Scape, is similarly split between the UK and Japan, although in this case all of the programming appears to have been done on the Japan side too.
So that one definitely goes on the list.

Got one more for the list: BRAHMA Force (PS1, 1996).
I knew I was forgetting one of those 90s mech games.

Can't find anything on Google. I'm assuming these entries were pulled from a database somewhere.
Nice sleuthing; this is some seriously obscure stuff, as in there literally isn't a single mention of it on the internet in English (until now.) More like this please.

There is a freeware Rainbow Six/Goldeneye-like game called X-Operations (or XOPS for short) that was made by two Japanese developers. Sadly, this is the best link I can give for it.

At least there's way more info about this one than Target Gear. It's even got a JP Wikipedia article: ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_operationsAnyway, nice catch. Added.

Also added Lucky & Wild (arcade, 1992); an edge case, but it still counts since you're in complete control of the car's speed (accelerator must be held down to move, brake allows a complete stop) and its position on the road (steering wheel).
