So it sounds like Genma Onimusha is more like a legit horror game, and not just for that stupid puzzle room marathon segment (seriously the majority of my deaths were in that area). Started Onimusha 2 awhile back... this one seems to have dropped all pretenses, and even has an intro which wouldn't be out of place on an anime. Got to a weird bit tho where you seem to revisit the first game's location, but they keep insisting its a different castle. Unfortunately I'm burned out (AGAIN, god why is this happening to me so much?) Only thing I'm not a big fan of is the whole gift-giving thing, since I tested and what you get in return can be random, and also sometimes its guesswork. I basically hate anything that adds an element of "save before trying it" to games. Yes, the gift giving mechanic is so bizarre, you have to love bizarre mechanics like that in Japanese games of that era, like furniture collecting in Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance. The only thing I remember is that the fat guy like pornography, booze and food (like me!) |

Yeah, and the gun guy likes books (no political message there), the little kid ninja likes foreign stuff because he wants to see the world... I dunno if you ever get to give gifts to the woman because I haven't gotten there yet.
Is this something you have to keep up tho? Because I feel like you should only do it enough to make them like you/assist you in some rooms and then just not give a crap about it anymore. Even then sometimes I almost find their aid annoying so I wonder if its worth it even then. Really the most worthwhile thing is I once got Power and Magic Jewels from the fat guy, which of course I want.
