You have to give the Rondo opening that they at least found a fluent German speaker for them. I remember the intro to the first .hack game also being voiced in German (because it's a poem by a fictional German writer who's important to the game's backstory), but it was clearly someone who's only been tought the phonetics of the words - the grammar is right and she's not terribly misspronouncing them but puts very odd pauses and emphasises in there that shows she doesn't actually understand what she's saying. Which is probably a minor issue or not even noticable to most, but I always find when this happens in media a bit distracting.

It's similar to how you have games like Shin Megami Tensei if... and Fire Emblem if. "If" gets used sometimes to indicate a hypothetical or alternate scenario, but it doesn't seem to be terribly frequent. SMT if... is also a reference to the British movie "if...." with four periods instead of three. The font is very similar too so I don't think it's a coincidence.

Huh, I hadn't heard of that movie. I wonder if that's where the usage in Japanese title comes from. Or perhaps that's where it came from with SMT if... (which I think is the first game that used it?), but later usage took it from there.
