gematsu.com/2019/06/phantasy-star-online-2-coming-west-for-xbox-one-pcSpring 2020. No other platforms announced yet. Originally released in 2012, Sega was to bring the game to West around this time but silently cancelled the plans. Sega did not offer much explanation or discussed the possibility leaving fans in complete despair witnessing all the cool collaborations, multimedia projects and later ports to PS4, Switch etc. EDIT: Europe may have to wait longer?

Wow, this game is finally coming to the West, like 8 years after it came out in Japan, lol. It doesn't really look like my thing, but I'm happy for people who'd been waiting this long for it to be brought over.

Hey, cool! I love the setting of phantasy star, though I never played any of the online games. I’ll probably pick this up.

I've wanted to try this game for a long time, but never felt like jumping through the hoops to play the Japanese version, so looking forward to trying this.
Hopefully we'll get the Final Fantasy XIV crossover stuff.

The games been out 8 years and needs Cloud gaming? and is US only in English how they manage to screw this up. You think after 8 years they would of made western version have AI team mate bots and all content available to be playable offline.

Interesting decision to bring it over after almost everyone stopped seriously caring about the game xD With it being Microsoft exclusive, I guess they pushed for it? Still don't see why now.
You think after 8 years they would of made western version have AI team mate bots and a ll content available to be playable offline. It's an MMORPG, mate.

PSO and Universe were playable offline though. Seems like something that would have made sense to add in theory but also doesn't make a lot sense due to this release being F2P.

I’ve yet to meet a single person who actually owns an Xbox One. I would’ve bought this game if the PS4 or Switch version came west, and I don’t think I’m the only one. Sooo... well played Microsoft, I guess?
Still not getting an Xbox One though.

Sure, because they've been designed that way on a conceptual level. PSO2 is not. It's not that easy to just slap an offline mode onto a full online only MMORPG. Let alone what the developer would want. It's obviously simply not gonna happen, is all I'm saying.

Microsoft recently clarified that's it's a timed exclusive and is going to be coming out on other platforms. Whether the Switch version is still going to be based on streaming is an unknown.
