What did you want Gemini to have done here? Not upload it at all? I can't see what you hope to achieve by giving him shit for this.

Not stop someone from updating it? It's not rocket science.

Not stop someone from updating it? It's not rocket science. It's also not rocket science that if you can't release something under your own terms without people getting mad at you, then you're going to avoid releasing stuff in the the first place. What you want results in less game translations.

www.vice.com/en_us/article/59nm85/an-online-feud-killed-a-gaming-oddity-people-had-waited-21-years-forGood follow up article, fairly neutral too. I guess it's good thing that nobody can dispute that the translation isn't fiinshed. Imagine if some additional work was done and the original hacker would insist it's not up to his standards. Speaking of of unfinished translations, I'm pretty sure I've got The 4th Unit for X68K somewhere, I don't quite remember from who I got that from. Possibly you CJ? I think this was Esperknights's hacking work. Yep. It's still a thing! I've poked him about it every so often, he's waiting on the translator to fill in some gaps.

I understand why Gemini wouldn't want to be associated with incomplete work and why he could have released this earlier but didn't. On the other hand, I haven't seen anything indicating that he asked people to NOT take up the work from the get go, so starplayer's actions in that regard are understandable. Part of why people follow a translation patch to begin with is because they want to play the game, even if it's incomplete or imperfect. Gemini and Resident Evie were always pretty good at keeping people updates about the issues they were encountering and about the fact that their work wasn't complete, so I don't even think anyone would fault them. I didn't see the initial reactions but my best guess is that people were probably happy about getting to play it at all.
These events sound pretty immature and unreasonable on both sides, based on that Vice article. It's sad, I was one of the people looking forward to a Mizzurna Falls translation.

Well, starplayer is still working on it, and this nonsense hasn't fazed him any, despite Gemini's best efforts.
One way or another, it will be completed, just a question of how and when.

Sounds more like starplayer is finally doing what Gemini wanted all along, only release it when it is completed.

Finally, someone is doing a translation for this game. I wonder if anyone will try to translate Aconcagua? All I could find online was that someone on YouTube basically did a subtitled playthrough of the game.

Kinda weird Aconcagua didn't get released outside of Japan particularly since it was a Sony game. Wikipedia makes the statement that it was intended to be released in Argentina (where Mt. Aconcagua is located), but the source for that kinda seems like the comment was made in jest. Still odd though.

Good news: someone completed a Spanish version, playable from start to finish. Bad: still getting rejected on RHDN due to it being based off of Gemini's work. Yeesh. Link isn't working for some reason, I shared it on twitter.

Wonderful news. I will use this to improve my spanish! How does the game control? More like a visual novel, or more like an action game, through the environments? Depending on this, I will play it either on Android or PS Vita
