I thought it was okay. Original release was kinda buggy and I'm not sure how much was fixed. The Switch version was also impossible to complete on initial release, but that at least was actually fixed very quickly. I remember the hit detection being wonky sometimes and some of the equipment didn't work correctly or wasn't worth upgrading. It also felt a little too long/padded which made it a tad boring. Also surprised that there weren't references to its origin as Flying Hamster II aside from the shooter section; Flying Hamster was a hori cute'em up. Would have been nice to have a hamster transformation. The developers have a clear affection for Wonder Boy III, but I think a need to get the game out before Christmas held it back a bit.

I list the bugs I encountered on PC, nothing game breaking nor frequent but a couple of them were annoying.
I don't remember equipment bugs but how everything is laid out made some sets not that useful without going out of your way to get all the gems. That's pretty minor though and there are exploits like the volcano entrance for money and equipping the prince set before beating a boss for money and rainbow drops(=hints to gems).
Yeah the game is like 4 times as long as MW4 if you 100% it but I wouldn't say it had that much padding overall. I'd have to try a low percentage run to really comment on that.
Not sure why it would reference Flying Hamster (I saw the shooter segments as a Monster Lair reference) but I guess I would've been fine with a hamster replacing the snake, haha. Then it could equip gear as well.
