Just to be ultra pedantic (and somehow has to do it 😝), there's no year 0 so 2020 is the last year of the current decade. To be even more pedantic, if you look at it, calendar-wise, there is no year 0, sure, but the term 'decade' is a construct separate from the gregorian calendar and refers to any period of ten years. The current system we as a society use is to split up decades by the third digit of the year, not to count decades as in relation to the start of the gregorian calendar. You wouldn't talk about the best games of the period 1991-2000, you would talk about the best games of the 90's, for example. I agree, and for me the decade ends with the zero, so it will end in 2020. I'm mean we are using the Gregorian calendar, and we are supposed to follow its rules. Anyway, since the decade is almost over, I would say that it was a very good year for indie developers, and several middle market companies. It's just that AAA games, were really bad for the most part. A bunch of buggy, loot boxes and microtransaction mess. When the games have functional microtransactions, but have no functioning gameplay, you know you have a problem.
