www.hardcoregaming101.net/aero-the-acrobat/A series that gets almost no love or hate, just indifference compared to your Bubsies and your Sparksters. Despite this, at least a couple of them are worth checking out, with Zero approaching "hidden gem" territory. This article features Aero 1, 2, and later today at the time of this writing, Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel, the game starring a mascot's edgy, badass rival before Sega totally stole the idea from Sunsoft.

Sonic & Knuckles already co-starred Sonic's edgy, badass rival long before Shadow, if that's what you're referring to.
I tried Aero before but I couldn't get over how awful that low-rent circus music was, and nothing else about it stood out to me. I have more respect for James Pond.

Zero is definitely worth a play. Quite hard though, I don't think I beat the last level legitimately back in the day.

Who is the best "edgy" squirrel? Zero, Conker or Mr. Nutz?

That 'Zero' game tho...
I sometimes think about making up other mascots of that style like "Panzer - The Blitzkrieg Tiger".
