I saw the prosthetic thing too. I was 14 I think when I saw the film, and I must say, ugly prosthetic or not it sparked my curiosity at that age haha. As for the film, it has been a while but I remember thinking a lot of it. I remember the world really drawing me in, it has a realism to it which gives the story a real sense of consequence. It had a great soundtrack too that kind of contrasts what's happening onscreen.

What I love about Boogie Nights is how well it captures the time period. The clothes, the home interior decor, the whole vibe just screams 1970's, early '80s, and what we locals colloquially call "The Valley." The realism comes from a very real place.
And who could dislike a soundtrack featuring music from The Emotions, Electric Light Orchestra, and Marvin Gaye? My parents met each other and grew up in that area. Van Nuys in the San Fernando valley was pretty much the porn capitol of the United States for a very good period of time. I really enjoyed how all the drama is married to a dark sense of humour.

-Doctor Who: Dalek Attack Doctor Who had many games, but this one are strange to me, because Doctor using his Sonic Screwdriver AS WEAPON! Ace or The Brigadier olso had own Sonic Screwdriver if play this game with second player.
-Citroën C4 Robot That Citroën C4 transformer from commercials olso had own freeware game, nothing special but playable.
-The Adventures of Gilligan's Island Played once not very good one
-Journey(arcade) and Journey Escape Two games about Journey band, never played Journey escape, but arcade one are just collection of mini games with MIDI Journey music on background But final stage music are played from cassete tape inside cabinet

Along the lines of inexplicable band based games, Revolution X, the Aerosmith themed light gun game! Such a very strange game with some truly awful home ports.

Along the lines of inexplicable band based games, Revolution X, the Aerosmith themed light gun game! Such a very strange game with some truly awful home ports. The arcade version is kind of great. I love dumb, violent, loud arcade games like this and NARC. Though having Aerosmith be the face of your rebellious youth movement, even in the mid 90's is kind of eye rolling. Another note about the game is this is the last arcade game I remember seeing everywhere. It was in arcades, theater lobbies, truck stops, department stores, grocery stores etc. I feel like the death of the American arcade game was not too long after this - games were removed from grocery stores, smoky dimly lit arcades converted to "family fun centers" etc. I have a really distinct memory of being in a Wal-mart on the morning of December 24th and some kid dismembering the final boss and beating the game. It really got me thinking for some reason - what was this kid going there on Christmas Eve? Did his mom just drop him off there with 50 bucks of quarters (this was not an easy game) so she could finish shopping?

I always would get up to the helicopter and then lose all my motivation which has not changed in the intervening years after giving it a quick go. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the "throw a billion things at the player" sub genre of light gun games. It feels too unfair if you don't have a full complement of players.
Wikipedia claims via an impossible to find Wired listicle that the game was originally going to be Jurassic Park themed before Sega snapped up the license. As weird as it sounds, Aerosmith was at the height of their commercial success internationally although their US peak was unsurprisingly in the 70s. I guess someone at Midway must have been a big fan because JP to Aerosmith is not an obvious transition.

Barker Bill's Trick Shooting, a 1990 light gun game based on a 1950s cartoon show featuring black & white cartoons from the 1930s. Why make a game on such an old obscure license? And why a light gun game of all things? I have never even heard about it until some time ago.

Kool-Aid Man on Intellivision. Never did get very far in this game, and was completely lost trying to play it as a kid.
