Woody Alien - Mini Metro definitely counts as a puzzler, though I'm not sure on Loop Hero. I remember you posting a review of Block Knockers previously and like then I think it looks wonderfully kitsch, even though I'd be embarrassed playing it myself due to the theme. jorpho - It seems like ages since your name came up on here, good to see you posting! Nintendo seems to have done little with puzzlers in recent years which is disappointing since they had a good amount on 3DS. I guess we maybe got Doctor Mario mobile in place of a Switch game, though of course that would have been more traditional. Wario's Woods at least is made available on most of their platforms even if that's not close to as exciting as a modern update.

excelsior I can get what you're saying, and yes that cheesy content is not for everyone, but I kind of miss that style of "naughty" arcade games that were almost everywhere in my youth. Tried to play "Lady Killer" on MAME which has a fairly original concept but it's still bugged and the graphics are all scrambled. Same goes for "Glass", they listed it as emulated but it still doesn't work properly. As for Loop Hero yes, it's probably not a puzzler in the strict sense, but I don't know what to classify it as. Deckbuilding card game? Idle game? Reverse tower defense?

Woody Alien - I more meant I wasn't sure because it was tough to get a grasp on the gameplay through video footage with Loop Hero. It looks like it's being labelled as a strategy game, and those tend to be based around puzzles in my experience, though usually a little more abstractly.

Guess I'll throw out the Jewel Match Solitaire games.
There's a series of indie releases, a spin-off of some sort of match three game series, where you go board by board and solve solitaire puzzles, though randomized what cards are on the board. You can earn coins to buy upgrades and one time helps, earning achievements also earning you extra coins in game. They're nothing special mechanically, but the presentation is fantastic, using a sort of mid 2000 amateur CG and effects style aesthetic (think Big Fish find the object sort of stuff), allowing you to unlock wallpapers of CG castles and the like. I have gotten all achievements on every single release, they make my brain very happy, and use their wallpapers on my desktop. There's no shortage of these on Steam and Itchio either.
