Games/Related You're Looking Forward to in 2022

I did a similar thread last year and my title is a bit off, but I am asking what video games and related you're looking forward to this year as a way of looking forward. Whether it be a new game release, oldies you have yet to get around to or anything related to video games such as movies or anything else that comes to mind.

For me I've said a few times I was a bit overwhelmed by the releases of interest in 2021, and yet, since I'm never especially current, I only picked up and played a few of them. I'm seeking to change that and catch up on 2021's releases. I've picked up most of the ones I was looking for, and have one just polished off and ready to add my first game to the 2022 Game Finish Challenge. Hopefully I can get relatively up to date with those.

For upcoming releases I'm really looking forward to two games coming from DotEmu games:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredders Revenge




Metal Slug Tactics




On the Nintendo front Kirby and the Forgotten Land is the release I'm looking forward to the most right now, and of course there shouldn't be too long to wait for that one. There's also Bayonetta 3 assuming it doesn't slip.

Sports Story got delayed into this year, so there's still that. Just Pokémon Legends for games with solid release dates, and Kirby too since it should be out in a month or two. Maybe BotW2 will be out this year. The Panzer Dragoon Zwei remake was supposed to come out last year, so that should also be coming soon.

Games coming out in 2022 that I can play:

-Super Lesbian Animal RPG (which is planned to come out this year as very recently announced by its creator Bobby Schroeder)
-Oxenfree II: Lost Signals
-Nekojishi: Lin & Partners
-Shadow Man Remastered for consoles (HECK YEAH!!!)

Games coming out that I don't think I'll be able to play:

-Bayonetta 3
-Clive 'n Wrench
-Earth Defence Force 6

Games already existing that I wanna play:

I'm really excited for Pocky & Rocky Reshrined and any Aleste games that come out, whether that's Aleste Branch, a home port of Senjin Aleste, or another compilation.

I'd forgotten about Pocky & Rocky! That's the problem with these under the radar games, I forget them all the time.

No confirmation outside of Japan yet, although that would seem like the target audience for it. I wonder if Nintendo is handling western versions though, since when they have in previous cases it would be similarly quiet.

I'm really out of the video game news loop because I haven't heard about most of the stuff mentioned as upcoming in this thread.

That being said I will be there DAY ONE for that Turtles game.

Also, I really loved Natsume's other remakes (Ninja Warriors and Wild Guns). There's something about that "Super 16-bit" style they have that really clicks with me, so I will likely get that Pocky and Rocky remake as well.

The new Zelda and Splatoon 3 are the big ones for me. Of course, with Zelda, it wouldn't be surprising if it didn't make 2022, so we'll see. Cuphead DLC is another one I'm looking forward to.

If I had a PS5 or XSX, Elden Ring would be one. That's one game that definitely makes me jealous as a Switch-owner.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Sonic Frontier are interesting, but both for sure belong to the 'wait for reviews' category. Also, I'm on Switch, and I'm not sure if Sega will pull off an open world Sonic game on the platform without major technical problems.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D is a day one pick-up for me, but I'm not sure if that was confirmed for 2022 or not. Also, S-E is being a little too giddy about NFTs right now, so who knows where that goes...
